Star FFA Chapter, Chester Rle-
kel, 17 year old .senior of Star
High School, waa elected presi-
dent. *716 served as sentinel of
the chapter last year, also made
Lone Star Farmer degree
and was outstanding In Dairy
Judging. He Is the son of Will
Rickel of Star.
Chester Is president of the
senior class, subscription editor,
plays football and basketball,

day night by a score at 13-7, on
the local field. Last year the
Bagies defeated the DUlos on
their field by a score of 30-0.
The single TD for the Eagles was

from Kirby to Jones with Kirby
carrying the ball over for the
extra point.
The Eagles attempted 10 pass-
es and oompleted five. They

Goldthwaite, as an Area Chair-
man for the National Automo-
bile Dealers Association was an-
nounced In Washington by
Frederick M. Sutter, president
of the 30,000 member dealer or-
ganization.
Mr. Saylor will represent
NADA In this area. He is
sponsible for reporting on the
affairs of thdnnational associa
tlon to other franchised dealers
here and he Is also in ch
of recruitment of new members.

The Ooldthwalte Lions Club
met at the Hangar on Tuesday
night for their regular meeting.
Norman Duren, Membership
Chairman, brought out that
October was Membership Month
and urged all members to se-
cure a new member for the club
Ray Duren reported on last
year’s membership over the
district. /
Bob Steen stated that there
would be a field trip over the
county starting at 9 o’clock this
Saturday to see a prevue of this
year’s livestock that will be en-
tered In stock shows.
Lew la T. Hudson was present-
ed with a bronze plaque for dis-
tinguished sendee as President
of the club for 1956-57. Dur-
ing this year as President, the
Goldthwaite Lions Club was the
District winner of the Inter-
national Membership Contest
for 196*47. The club will re-
ceive the prize shortly, which
will be a portable speakers
stand made of aluminum and
plywood and bearing the L
emblem. It folds to less than
two Inches In thickness.
Rev. P. H. Wood, Warren Dur-
en, and Hollis Blackwell i
the night’s program committee
and they had Tom Cody Graves,
as a guest, give an account of
its trip to the National Jam-
boree and the International
Jamboree and side trips that
went along with it.

steer and seven lamb feeding
lots In Mills county will be con-
ducted this coming Saturday, it
has been announced by Georgo
Reese, county agent, and chair-
man of the tour committee.
The tour will take place of the
regular club steer and lamb
feeding project prevue which
has been In the agriculture
barns here lor the past several
years. Members cf the Mill#
County Breeders’ Association
voted at their annual meeting
to change from the prevue to a.
tour.
The party will leave from the
court house Saturday morning
at 9 o'clock. The tour will take
the party to 10 steer pens and
seven lamb pens, Mr. Reese an-
nounced. It is expected to take
most of the day to complete
the tour which is being arrang-
'd so that the party will be back

Football Receipts
Receipts from the Ooldth-
walte-8an Saba game on Fri-
day, September 13, have been
announced by Supt. J. T. Jones
as follows:
Total receip’s $999.55., of this
amount $212 00 were for season
tickets and 787.5tofor gate re-
ceipts. Expenses for officials
were $69.00 and $6.60 for milage
making a total of $65 60 for ex-
penses. which leaves a balance
of $933.95 to be shared by the
two teams. Ooldthwalte re-
ceived $466 87 and San Saba re-
ceived 466.88 for their share.
