blue ribbons and centered with
a lovely arrangement of white
gladioli and white mums. Mrs.
Jack Earl Long served the cake
and Miss Roberta Cox ledeled
the punch. Mias Marie Reynolds,
sister of the bride-elect pre-
sided at the bride’s book.
Miss Reynolds received a num-
ber of beautiful and useful gifts
which were attractively dis-
played In the Chapel.

Mf. and Mrs. Wlncel Page are
the parents of a son, Owen Dale,
bom at San Saba Memorial
Hospital, Thursday January 24.
He weighed eight pounds and
three ounces.,He has a brother,
Gary and a lister, Amy to wel-
come him home.
Maternal grandparents are
Mr. and Mrs. Charley Miller of
the Big Valley community and
Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Page also of
Big Valley are the paternal
grandparents.

Duren Quilters
Meet January 22
The Duren Quilting Club met
Tuesday January 22 for an all
day quilting at the Dflren
Churchhouse. Mrs. J. E. Smith
and Mrs. J. R. Bmlth had quilts
ready to work on.
At the noon hour the follow-
ing ladles enjoyed a covered
dish luncheon: Mrs. J. E. Smith,
Mrs. J. R. Smith, and children;
Mrs. "W. X. Daniel; Mrs. W. C.
Cox; Mrs C. C. Wright; Mrs.
Henry Olbbard. Mrs. R. C. Du-
^ren; Mrs. Kyle Smith and son;
Mrs. J. L. Hillman and Mrs. E. J.
Cox and children and Mrs. Lula
Hobbs.
Next quilting will be February
5 and Mrs. Henry Olbbard and
Mrs. J. L. Hillman will have
quilts ready to work on. Visitors
and new members are always
welcome.

Club Meeting Held
Lest Week Tuesday
The Ooldthwalte Home De-
monstration Club met Tues-
day, January 22, In the home
of Mrs. A. B. Lindsey. The club
opened with the club prayer,
followed by a song. After a
short business medtlng, with
Mrs. Lloyd Reynolds, pre-
sident, presiding, Mrs. Dutch
Smith, 4-H club leader gave
a report on the 4-H Club girls
exhibits at the stock show.
xMlss Burriuycounty HD agent
gave a very Interesting demon-
stration and showed slides on
“Foundation Shrubs For The
Home”. Club members received
their new Year books at this
time. The club was very happy
to welcome Mrs. C. H. Hall as
a new- member.
After the close of the busi-
ness meeting, delicious refresh-
ments were served to 15 mem-
bers and Miss Burrjjs.
The next meeting m\\ be Feb-
ruary 12, at the home of Mrs.
J. H. Singletary. The club plans
to work on filling out the year
book at this time and all mem-
bers are urged to attend.

100th anniversary celebration of
the Masonic Lodge'at Gatesvllle
one night last week. Their lodge
was organized 2 years after the
County.
Dan Townsen was moved to
the Rest Home at Evant last
week. He is about the same.
. Mr. and Mrs. Grover Kinche-
loe and children, G. C. and Edna
Marie of Benbrook spent the
weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Bud
Klncheloe and Dean.
Wayne Poe of A.C.C. spent the
.weekend with his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Avery Poe.
Mrs. Hazel Waddell is home
after spending two weeks at
Lubbock.
Several of the school children
are having the chicken-pox.
They all seem to be doing all
right.
Mrs. J. A. Hamilton and Mrs.
PeaTl Howard 16ft Saturday for
Beeville where they will visit
their children.
We are glad to have Mr. and
Mrs. Charlie Stephan at home,
after spending several months
in Parker, Arizona.

Throgmorton and Mrs. C. C.
Sheldon visited Mr. Dan, Mon-
day afternoon. He Isn’t doing so
well.

Charles Wilbur Hill home one
day last week.

Chapter Meeting
Gamma Zeta Chapter of Delta
Kappa Gamma Society met In
the home of Miss Francis Clay
at Dublin on January 19, 1957,
with the president, Mrs.'S. F.
Davis, presiding. The theme of
the meeting was a brief history,
goals and Information on '•how
World Organizations could be
used as a resource by Delta Kap-
pa Gamma.
Miss Ethel Baker gave an in-
structive talk on ‘‘World Con-
federation of Organizations,” of
the teaching profession. Mrs.
Lucille Duke explained how
members of Gamma Zeta may
become members of Interna-
tional "Federation of University
Women”. Mrs. Lee McGlothlln
gave an Interesting discussion
on what the 1 “International
Council For Exceptional Chil-
dren”, was doing. “Legislation
In the News”, was given by Miss
Velma Stldman.
After the business meeting
and program a sing song was
enjoyed.
Mrs. Lee Walton ^rom Mills
County attended the meeting.
Mrs. W. J. Fouse of Round
^tock has announced the en-
gagement at her daughter, Miss
Mary Elna Fouse, and A/2C
Hugh Chapman, son of Joseph
H. Chapman of Campbell, Cali-
fornia.
Miss Fouse, a graduate of
Texas State College for Women,
Is teacher of homemaking in the
public schools of Copperas Cove,
Texas. She is a member of Delta
Kappa Gamma.
Her fiancee, stationed at
Dyess Air Force Base, Abilene,
Texas, As a - graduate of Hill-
crest High School of Dallas.
A mid-summer wedding Is
planned.

Mrs. Clemmle Montgomery of
Austin, a former resident of the
Carad&n community has ar-
rived in Europe via Trans world
Airlines’ Constellation after a
transatlantic flight from New
York.
Mrs. Montgomery Is enroute
to Wiesbaden, Germany, where
she will visit her daughter, Mrs.
Norman L. French and Sgt.
French. During her visit she
plans to see as much of Europe
as possible.
