The Weatherford Kangaroos re-
main unbeaten and unscored upon in
conference play this season after a
40-0 win over the Hamilton Bull
Dogs Friday night at Hamitlon.
Weatherford out-classed Hamilton in
everything except weight.
Hamilton’s five man defense line
made it difficult for the Kangaroos
to locate men at first. This was the
Bull Dogs only strong point of the
game.
Cox recovered the opponents fum-
ble on Hamilton’s 33 on the second
play of the game and five plays la-
ter Carter ran across the double
Kangaroos to Meet Kang
Lions Friday Night
The Kangaroos will get their first
real test in conference play Friday
night when they will meet the Dub-
lin Lions at Dublin.
Both teams are unbeaton and un-
scored upon in conference play. Dub-
lin holds a 20-0 victory over De
Leon, 39-0 over Hico, 33-0 over Gor-
man, and a forfeit from the Rising
Star squad. They had 14 points scor-
ed against them by San Saga, class
A, 20-14, and suffered a 26-6 defeat
by Stephenville. However Stephen-
ville is AA and a possible state win-
ner. The Kangaroos have defeated
Hico 39-0; Gorman 59-0, Rising Star
54-0, and Hamilton 40-0. They have
lost to Mineral Wells AA 21-7 and
to Arlington AA 25-7.

TRADE WITH
GRASS BURR ADVERTISERS
On Thursday, Oct. 17, the Kan-
garoos chawked up another con-
ference victory by winning over Ris-
ing Star 54 to 0. The Kangaroos had
long been slated to win this game
and they certainly proved this pre-
diction in true form.
The first of Weatherford’s touch-
downs was made by Carter just 2
plays after the Kangaroos got the
ball. It wasn’t long after this that
Waldrip plunged over the Wild Cats’
goal line for our second score of
the game. After this Coach Wishard
started warming up the second string
and before many minutes had passed
that entire string went into the
game where most of them stayed the
j rest of the game. The men on the
| Kangaroo 11 who made the touch-
downs were Carter 1, Waldrip 3,
ing 16 pounds more than the Kan- j Hamilton 1, Wren 2, and Thomas 1.
garoos.
A triple threat to the Weatherford
squad is Spruill, Dublin’s 225-pound
fullback.
The probable starting lineups will
stripe for the first score of the game.
The attempt for conversion failed.

Football Boys Are
Honored At Banquet
A group fo business men gave the
Kangaroo team a banquet October
16 in the high school gym. The tables
were in ‘T‘” formation with the
speakers’ table at the cross-bar. The
gym was colorfully decorated and
the menu planned and served by
the Home Economics Department.
Seated at the speakers’ table were
Coach Wishard, Coach Tommy Field,
Ray Turner, Supt. Barber, Coach
Emmons, Claude Thomas, Johnny
Shaw and Captain Carter of the
Kangaroos. There were a number of
impromptu speeches followed by
several number by the High School
Chorus, two songs by Sue Owen, and
two poems read by Betty Fain writ-
ten by one of the students, Robert
Smart, about the football team.
There were sixty-two men and boys
present.
It would be impossible to name all
the men on the Weatherford squad
who figured because nearly every-
one played outstanding football.
