Mrs. G'owen reported the news
from Hilltop. We need someone now
from that community to send us all
the happenings in the neighrborhood
—births, deaths, illnesses, visitors,
parties, celebrations, anniversaries.
,Will someone volunteer?
News of the death of Henry J.
Landrum was a surprise. Mr. Land •
rum suffered a fatal heart attack
Saturday night at his home in Dallas.
He was among the few men guests
at the Public Affairs Luncheon Club
in Dallas Monday a week ago and af-
terwards as we rode downtown in the
Carlton car, little did he appear phy-
sically ill. His wife has been one of
the most faithful members of the
club. She’s always at the door to help
the. ticket committee with reserva-
tions and change. Mr. and Mrs. Land-
rum were with us on the special train
to the Kentucky Derby two years ago.
'And what a good time we had! He
was vice-president and general man-
ager of the Lone Star School Book
Depository. Besides his wife, he is
survived by a daughter, Mrs. Fred
H. Watts, a son, George & Landrum,
and three grandsons.
