Mr and Mrs. Russell Cobb
have sold their farm near Mul-
lin, and. they have bought a
home In Mullln.
Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Landers
are both 111 with the flu.
Mr. and Mrs Dudley Holland
and family of Sherman visited
here last weekend with her
mother. Mrs. Margaret Toliver.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Grady vis-
ited over the weekend here
with Mr. and Mrs. Fowler
White. Their little son returned
home with them, after visiting
here with his grandparents.

tended the stock show at San
Antonio last weekend.
Mr, and Mrs. J. S. Ivy were
business visitors at Comanche
Tuesday.
Pearl Crawford and Mrs. O A.
Evans were business visitors at
Hamilton last Tuesday.
The Prlddy basketball teams
have been playing ball. The
girls won the District Champ-
ionship and the boys are in a
tie with Carlton.
Mrs. Maude Prater, who has
been on the sick list at the
home of her sisters, Mrs V. T.
Stevens and Mrs. Luther Gees-
lin, was able to go to Mrs Ethel
Kemp's, at Comanche, for hos-
pital treatments.
Mrs. W. C. Dellis spent a
few days with her mother, Mrs.
Dora Ryan, who has flu, at her
home in Comanche.
Mrs. J S. Ivy visited Mrs Jim
Cockrum and Mrs. R C Petty
Saturday afternoon.
Mrs. Wells of Odessa spent a
few days at the W W Ratliff
home last week. They put up a
new water tank and did other

parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Tie-
man n.
Mrs. G. K. Lynch spent a
few days in Temple visiting Mr.
Lynch, who was quite sick a
few days.
Mr. and Mrs. Noel Ledbetter
and family visited W. P. Led-
better, who Is on the sick list,
several times last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Pearl Shipman
were reported on the sick list
during last week. We wish all
the sick folks a speedy recovery.
Mr. and Mrs. O. A. Evans,
Bob and Ruth Reynolds were
afternoon guests of Mr. and
Mrs J. C. Bramblett, Wednes-
day.
Mr. A R. Whatley celebrated
his 77th birthday February 11.
It was a sad day for Mr. and
Mrs. Whatley as thfey received
word that morning that Mr.
Whatley’s brother-in-law, Mr.
W R. Bilton of Lometa, had
passed away, February 10. at
the home of his daughter, Mrs.
Ray Thomas near Lampasas.
Mr, and Mrs. Whatley were un-
able to attend the funeral.
Burial was at Adamsville.
Little Linda Fisher of Brown-
wood celebrated her 4th birth-
day Sunday, February 14. She
came to -her Grandpa and
Grandma Whatleys for the oc-
casion. She came in with her
cake and said, "I am bringing
my birthday." Those present
were her father and mother, Mr.
and Mrs. Carlos Fisher, broth-
er, Landrie, and her sister, Lin-
da; her grandmother and
granddad, Mr and Mrs. Ted
Goodsell. uncle, A. R. Brown*
and aunt, Evelyn Stasser and
four children, all of Brownwood.
Other guests in the Whatley
home the past week were Mr.
and Mrs. Hugh Nowell and Miss
Pearl Crawford, of Goldthwaite.
Mr and Mrs. Hugh Nowell re-
ceived word Monday morning,
February 15. that they were new
grandparents Mr. and Mrs:
Ralph Nowell are the parents of
a son, weighing eight and one-
half pounds He has been nam-
ed Mark Philip. Mrs. Nowell will
go to Beltsvllle to help care for
her grandson Congratulations
to both parents and grandpar-
ents.

Funeral services for Mrs. T.
H Kennedy. 81, of 24 West 7th
Street, San Angelo, were held
at 4 p. m„ Tuesday. February
9, in Johnson’s Puneral Chapel.
Services were conducted by
Rev. A. J. Kennemer Jr., pastor
of the Harris Avenue Baptist
Church. Burial was in Fairmont
Cemetery.
Mrs. Kennedy died Monday,
February 8, In Baptist Memorial
Hospital. She was the former
Miss Effle Burns, and was bom
June 8, 1878, In Burnet. She
and the late Mr. Kennedy were
married In Austin and moved
to San Angelo In 1905.
Survivors are a son, Frank L.
Kennedy of San Antonio, one
grandson and a nephew, Oscar
Bums of Goldthwaite, who at-
tended the funeral.
