Return From Seminar
Held In San Antonio
Dr. and Mrs. D. L. Bail-
ey of La Feria have re-
turned from San Antonio
after attending the annual
homecoming seminar held
at the doctors of chiroprac-
tic at the Granada Hotel Fri-
day and Saturday,
It is required by law that
the doctors of chiropractic
have a minimum of two days
refresher course each year
to be eligible for license
renewal.
They viewed a model of
the new Texas Chiropractice
College in Pasadena, Texas.
This air conditioned college,
with its swimming pool, is
on an eight acre campus.
The college, which is to be
opened in September of 1965,
Is to be a non-profit organi-
zation. It will be open to stu-
dents from all over the
United States.
The seminar next year will
be held at the Rice Hotel in
Houston.
While in San Antonio Fri-
day evening the Baileys
visited Mrs,. Bailey’s bro-
ther and sister-in-law, Mr,
and Mrs. Herman M. Hen-
sley, formerly of Mercedes.
Mr. and Mrs. Howard
Sparrow and family returned
last week from a two week
vacation spent visiting rela-
tives in Alabama and South
Carolina.
NEW FALCON DAM
FOLDER AVAILABLE
FOR DISTRIBUTION
A new descriptive folder
on the Falcon Dam and Re-
servoir, which is located on
the Rio Grande some 80
miles downstream from La-
redo, and is jointly operat-
ed and maintained by the
United States and Mexican
Sections of the International
Boundary and Water Com-
mission, United States and
Mexico, is now ready for
distribution.
The folder now includes a
map which clearly indicates
in red the public roads lead-
ing from U. S. Highway 83
and giving access to the re-
servoir shoreline on the
United States side. The
folder contains general en-
gineering data on the re-
servoir, the dam, and the
power plant components. Of
particular interest to fishing
and boating enthusiasts
is the section on General
Rules and Regulations for
Public Use of the Reser-
voir,
Copies of the folder are
available upon request from:
