thru 14 stake race when
she raced young Cimarron
in a fast smooth figure eight
in 15.04. Johnny Harbison
and Lucky came in third in
15.72.
In the under 11 age group
Reservations for space In
the Beachcomber Art Show
have come in from all over
South Texas.
The show will be July 19
Hondo, San Antonio, San
Benito, San Perlita, and
Weslaco.
Seven from San Antonio
have made reservations.
Show officials said plans
are being made to give away
three paintings to visitors.
Winners will have 20 or 25
to choose from.
100 exhibitors.
So far, reservations have
come from artistis in Aran-
sas Pass, Brownsville, Cor-
pus Christ!, Cuero, Harlin-
gen, Hondo, Laredo, Los
Fresnos, McAllen, Mission,
Pharr, Port Isabel, Pre-
north of Highway 83. The
goats are light in weight
and are easier to throw and
tie than calves. Mrs. J. G.
Croxton says that any be-
ginner may participate and
that spectators are welcome
to watch — free of charge.

Mrs. Morris Returns
From Long Vacation
Mrs. J. C. Morris return-
ed home recently after an
extensive vacation in which
she accompanied her hus-
band to Minority, New Mexi-
co, before going to Dallas to
visit her aunt, Mrs. Leone
Yeary and her son, John
Norris.
While in Dallas she visited
Six Flags Over Texas and
made a weekend trip to
Greenville . to visit rela-
tives. Later she traveled to
Houston to see her son, Jim
Norris and his family, in-
cluding an eight pound two
ounce new arrival, Robin
Rebecca. Her son, John,
brought her home and will
visit in Mercedes for a week.
