Lutheran Boards
Plan Work for ’62
The various boards at Im-
manuel Lutheran Church
“organized for action” for
1962 at a meeting of all
boards at the Parish Hall
Monday evening. Plans were
mapped out, and responsibil-

them out.
The Board of Elders
elected Lloyd Heggen as j
chairman. Other members
on this board are Ray L.
Stern, Ed. Ziebarth, E. F.
Neuhaus, Walter Klein and
John Karle. Two major em-
phases for the year will be
“Outreach”, through the
Preaching - Teaching
Reaching Mission the last
week of Jan., together with
its follow-up; and “Inreach”
or spiritual growth, through
continuing activity to make
all members alert to their
Christian opportunities,
Rev. John L. Herzog, pastor,
reported.
The Board for Parish Ed-
ucation is composed of
George Erchinger, A. Pey-
nado, H. O. Hovda, Sam Kies-
chnick, E. M. Albright and
Frank Eilers. George Erch-
inger will head this board
for the second year. It is
responsible for the various
areas of educational en-
deavor for children and
adults. Special emphasis is
to be given to Bible study
for the year.
The Trustees chose Elmo
Wade as board chairman.
Other trustees are Herbert
Drefke, 0. L. Hix, Bob Tom-
linson, Merlyn Hempy and
H. E. Vogel. Maintenance of

sisted by the long-time
treasurer of the congrega-
tion, A. E. Krause, and M.
A. Borchelt, Erwin Twen-
hafel, A. R, Dillon and Fred
Dohroman.
Besides the ongoing ste-
wardship education and
training, this board will or-
ganize the “Carry the
Cross” offering. This is a
special half million dollar
effort of the Texas District
for giving Church Extension
help to new missions, and
furthering the campus min-
istry at various state school.
