Rotarians Hear
Fellowship Winner
At Tuesday Meeting
Life and learning in Nor-
way was described by
Marilyn Jo Wood of Donna
for the Mercedes Rotary
Club Tuesday noon.
Miss Wood returned this
month from Norway where
she studied in Oslo under a
Rotary Fellowship won in,
world wide competition. She)
is a graduate of Southern
Methodist University and at*
one time was governor of
Bluebonnet Girls States.
Miss Wood learned the
Norwegian language in sum-
mer school last year and
studied history in Olso,
She said Norwegians eat
four meals a day and lead
an active but easy and re-
freshing life. The day light
lasts only 2 1/2 hours during
eight months of the year.
Miss Wood lived with a
Norwegian realtor and his
family. Many of their holi-
days and week-ends were
spent out of doors, mostly
skiing.
Her color slide pro-
jections show Norway to
be an interesting country of
mountains, snow and fjords.
