A Dishwasher Will
Save 25 Work
Days A Year!
How would you like a 25-day
vacation? That’s what you not
every year when you have an
automatic dishwasher.
It’s simple arithmetic: The
homemaker who has a dishwash-
er saves an average of M2 min-
utes a day. Over a year's time,
this adds up to virtually 25
*-hour work days.
Although these time saving's
are dramatic, they are only
average. Proper use of your
dishwasher can increase the to-
tal of valuable hours saved.
For example. Hot point home
economists report that hand
pro-rinsing and pro-stackinjr
dishes is not necessary with the
new Hotpoint dishwashers. If
you hand rinse you are simply
performing; a task your dish-
washer is quite capable of doing
automatically. Simply (lick otV
food waste and store dishes di-
rectly in the dishwasher.
Additional time saving's are of-
fered hv dishwashers with mul-

ti-cycle selections. A “rinse on-
ly" cycle, a seven-minute jet
spray rinse, permits the home-
maker to store dishes from any
meal in the .dishwasher and hold
them until a full load has been
accumulated. They are then
ready for the full, “wash and
dry" cycle, A 25-minute "pots
and pans" cycle is designed to
wash food preparation utensils
during meal time. When dinner
is over, these utensils are clean
and the dishwasher is free to
accomodate the diiutor dishes.
According to Hotpoint home
economists, the homemaker who
takes advantage of all the fea-
tures of her dishwasher increas-
es her total of "kitchen-free"
hours. Avoid over-preparation of
dishes, take advantage of spe-
cial wash or rinse cycles, and
you'll got the most from your
automatic servant.

The business side of on-
farm vacations for city dwel-
lers, a growing enterprise
and new source of income
for some farm families, is
discussed in a U. S. Depart-
ment of Agriculture report.
The report, by the Economic
Research Service, evaluates
the farm vacation business in
Ohio but covers many items
which would have widespread
interest. Single copies of
“Farm Vacation Enterprise
in Ohio,’’ F.RS-164 are
available from the Division
of Information, Office of.
Management Services, U. S.
Department of Agriculture,
Washington, D. C. 20250.
At each of the field days
emphasis on the economy
of weed control by the use of
flame cultivation will be
stressed. Dr. Earl H. Col-
lister, Director of the High
Plains Research Founda-
tion at Halfway, Texas, will
be among the guest speak-
ers at both of the sites.
Along with Dr. Collister,
from the Foundation will be
Jack Parks, Associate Agri-
cultural Engineer for the
Foundation. Parks is the co-
ordinator of the research
conducted in the Valley.

THE AVERAGE ANCIENT
ROMAN LIVED TO BE 22
The American born in 1961 can look forward to
a life span of nearly 70 years. Since 1 900 alone,
average life expectancy has climbed an in-
credible 20 years. Medical progress is the great achiever of these
revolutionary gains. New research and new knowledge today
promise even further advarfees.
Nevertheless, neglecting to see a physician in time to benefit fully
from modern medical science is cheating many not only of average
years, but of extra years. Clearly, the great step toward better
health and longer life is simple: regular medical check-ups.
