BEALL S MARKING
41st ANNIVERSARY
WITH BIG SALE
Beall’s Department Stores
this year observes the 41st
Anniversary of its found-
ing, according to Jack Smith,
vice president and manager
of the local Beall Store.
The Mercedes Beall’s De-
partment Store is one of the
47 - store Beall Chain op-
erated exclusively in Texas.
Mr. Smith pointed out that
the three original co -
founders started the busi-
ness in Henderson, Texas
in 1923. They believed that
selling the finest, first
quality merchandise for the
lowest possible price would
be appreciated by the buying
public.
That policy has been fol-
lowed by every Beall store
since that time.
Beall’s 41st Anniversary
Sale will be the biggest ever
staged by the company,
Mr. Smith pointed out.
Beall’s staff of buyers plus
Beall’s New York represen-
tatives have searched the na-
tion’s best markets for the
entire year to secure anni-
versary offerings which are
better than ever before.
Over the past several
years Beall’s have been con-
stantly expanding its lines
of merchandise to include
more famous brands, better
quality goods, and a greater
selection of lines. Also,
fashion lines are being up-
graded in style and quality
with famous Dallas, New
York, and California fash-
ions prominent in their of-
ferings.
Meanwhile, further proof
of the Beall company’s in-
tention to expand its services
came in 1959 when it first
offered credit accounts to its
customers as an added ser-
vice after selling on a cash
only basis for 36 years.
During its 41 year history,
Beall’s has been known for
its friendliness and neigh-
borly spirit. All Beall man-
agers and employees are
prominent in all community
projects and are recognized
for their activity in religious
and cultural affairs. Many
are also identified with ser-
vice clubs and leading fra-
ternal organizations.
Anhalt, Texas, in Comal
County, is named from the
German word meaning stop-
ping place.
