F-16 Demonstration Flight
Thrills Con-Trib Winner
GD/FW employee Jack Isaacson won the ride of
his life - an F-16 flight - in this year's Con-Trib
Club drawing.
Isaacson claimed the prize recently in the back
cockpit of F-16B No. 2, the division's technology
demonstration aircraft, with company test pilot Joe
Sweeney at the front-cockpit controls.
"It was like I was dreaming. The sensation is hard
to describe, but it felt a lot like body-surfing,"
Isaacson said, after the approximately one-hour long
sortie.
Isaacson supports United Way agencies in more
ways than one. Besides being a Con-Trib participant,
he is also a volunteer in Big Brothers and Sisters, a
Con-Trib-supported United Way program. He serves
as a Big Brother to Luis Silva, 11, who visited the
flight line to observe Isaacson's flight.
"We did everything on the flight - including stall
maneuvers, a simulated bombing run, a 9-g turn -
until we ran out of gas," Isaacson said.
Isaacson works in Dept. 067-2, F-16 software
mechanization. All Con-Trib participants had a
chance to win in the drawing held at the end of the
Con-Trib campaign.

Heart Walk Totals Reported
General Dynamics' walkers raised more than
$21,000 in pledges in the recent Heart Walk benefit-
ing the American Heart Association. This was more
than 25 percent of all the money raised in the com-
munity event.
A large number of employees and their family
members turned out to participate in the walk on a
cold winter day.
Jack Buckner, Vice President of Special Programs,
was area co-chairman for the Heart Walk this year.
Buckner has accepted chairmanship of the total
effort in 1992.
