tianity is practical for the na-
it is not the religion of Christ.
What is a nation anyway? It is not
' abstract thing. It is made up
of individual men. Now if selfish-
ness, fear, hatred, distrust, and kill-
ing are wrong for one of these in-
jdividuals, what new element is in-
troduced into the situation that makes
right for a whole nation to be sel-
h, grasping, afraid, and distrust-
ful ? When the presidents and kings
of the nation do what Queen Victoria
3aid she would like to do, that is lay
her crown at the feet of Jesus, the
nations will be on the way to become
Christian. The Christmas spirit must
inspire the nation as well as the in-
dividual. “Glory to God in the high-
est and on earth peace.”

Christmas
By Rev. Robt. Hutchins
This is the greatest season for the
church—it is the time of the birth of
the Savior. When we look back on
the world at that time we find that
after all the years man had existed
on the earth he had practically made
no progress. He was living under al-
most the same conditions that he had
lived under for the preceding cen-
turies.
Christ came, and with Him came
progress, and civilization; that is to
the countries that accepted Him, and
we find that according to the de-
gree they accepted Him, to that de-
gree they progressed. And that the
countries that did not accept Him,
have lived under the same conditions
that they lived under during the cen-
turies before He came. Also that as
He has been obeyed progress has con-
tinued to exist, and prosperity has
come.
He is indeed the Light of the
world; and it seems that all people
in gratitude to Him for the wonderful
blessings He has brought, would be
followers of His, and obedient to His
commands.
Let us join in giving praise and
thanks to God for this wonderful gift,
and let us also remember that this
is His birthday we celebrate. We
can give Him gifts in but one way;
that is the way He has given us; to
put it in His words: “In as much as
The much heralded new Ford car
was on display in Rocksprings last
Tuesday and was inspected and ad-
mired by some 500 people, all of
whom were delighted with the many
new features. The show occurred at
the show room of the Rocksprings
Motor Co., local Ford agency, and
the room was especially decorated for
the occasion.
Mr. Champ Wood, demonstrator
for the new Ford for the factory, was
here with the car and explained thor-
oughly all the new features embody-
ing the new machine.' It was plainly
shown that all of the material in the
new car as well as all equipment is
as good as money can buy and all
this at the remarkably low price as
the new Ford is quoted. The car on
exhibit here was a four-door sedan
and one of the outstanding features
in the eyes of the critics is its ex-
ceptional finish. Also, it seems that
the new car has every convenience
and accessory that is found on high
priced cars.
Mr. Miller, manager of the local
Ford agency, is very well satisfied
with the reception the new car is get-
ting, and reports that his orders are
coming in fine. He reports the fol-
lowing among the number he has
booked for future delivery, the first
of which he expects to fill shortly
after the first of the year. Those or-
dering various models are V. A.
Brown, A. B. Coalson, T. C. Hampton,
Walker Ragsdale, W. B. Singleton, J.
S. Brown, H. V. Stokes, L. A. Clark,
J. J. Snearly and the Garrett Freight
Line. Mr. Miller expects his perma-
nent demonstrator this week, some-
time, but does not know what model
it will be.
