Boys And Girls
Write To Santa
Tiwas the night before Christmas
with not a creature around but a
jolly old fellow named Santa
Claus quietly read nis mail from
Rocksprings. He was seated in his
new swivel chair designed l>y
Dodge and his pipe was making
smoke rings that went clear up to
Mars. Ah, he sighed, how cozy
/this would Ibe ?f that fire in the
/ fireplace was automatically heated.
/ And another thing about those
,/Tejtas folks—that panther down
near Rocksprings—if he has been
killing white tail deer, what will
he do to my reindeers? I’m think-
ing seriously of retiring and letting
that submarine that comes up to
the North Pole, when it’s crew
starts dodging income taxes, bring
me a few groceries and a can of
Prince Albert. Grandfather Clock,
did you chime 10 o'clock? 'Maybe
I had better finish reading my
mail and here on top of the stack
are many letters from Rocksprings,
Texas. Do you reckon those pretty
little boys and girls expect me
down that way? Well, I’ll decide
after I read what thev have to say.

Christmas
Pageant At
Presbyterian
Church, Dec. 21
A Christmas pageant, “Let
There Be . . . Light”, will be the
highlight of the Christmas pro-
gram at the Presbyterian Church
Sunday night. The theme of the
pageant is light, from the light
which God created during the
creation to the coming of the
Light of the world, Jesus Christ.
The pageant is concluded with a
candle lighting service. This ser-
vice is a symbol of how Christ
lights the lives of those who accept
Hint as Lord and Savior and how
those lighted lives may bring His
light into others lives.
The pageant will be followed
with the traditional Christmas party
around the Christmas tree.
The Christmas pageant begins
at 7:00 o’clock. The pageant cast
and choir are reminded of the
rehearsal at 2:00 o’clock Sunday
afternoon.
The Presbyterian Church invites
all of its friends to the pageant
and party.

Keeping Cool
For Santa Claus
The mercury has no respect for
people's feelings and spent four
days and nights this week on the
lower side of the bulletin hoard. It
certainly wasn't bath-taking wea-
ther last Saturday when the tem-
perature dropped to 28 degrees and
kept falling until it hit a low of
16 degrees that night. Monday's
minimum tempreature was 26 de-
grees and Tuesday's was 28 degrees.

Dinner At
Park Building
The Angora squad and dads of
the boys were entertained with a
stag suppiper at the Park Building,
Monday night, December 15th by
the mothers of the football boys.
Hon. Claud Gilmer, guest spea-
ker for the evening, was introduc-
ed by Superintendent Paul Barr.
Mr. Gilmer remarked that athletics
had definitely contributed keeping
hoys in school long enough to re-
alize the important of an educa-
tion.
Mr. Giliner recalled that before
football was added to the school
program., many boys quit school in
their early teens. Football and
other athletics not only promotes
good 'health rules but stimulates
interest for the young people to
j make better grades, qualifying
I them to enter sports.
Speaking directly to the boys, he
advised them to make up their

Christmas season off to a good
start with friendship and good-will
manifested among the schools of
this area.
