a committee in Austin fighting this

tion of the hospital for Crystal City
as a business proposition. The mutter
was discussed and a committee ap-
pointed to confer with him on the
question.
The Chamber of Commerce voted to
give their moral support to La Pryor
and Batesvllle in obtaining a gravel
rirtnl from Pearsall to Eagle Pass.
Several ranchmen were here Mon-
day before the Commissioners’ Court
in regard to getting the Court's coop-
eration iu the destruction of predatory
■ animals. The ranchmen plan the or-
j ganizntion of a Wolf Club. ;

MINSTREL SHOW BIG SUCCESS
The Alumni Association of the Crys-
tal City High School met Thursday
night, June B, and held their annual
banquet which was served in Ihe base-
ment of the Methodist church to thirty
one guests.
This occasion was carried out in aj
different manner from any given re-1
eently. The color scheme of red and
white was carried out and the Idea of
a circus was carried out, the Alumni
members being the patrons. In carry-
ing out this scheme little Miss lone
Marie McAlister was dressed to rep-J
resent the tight rotie walker; Maurey
Ivey was the lion tamer, and Joe Tuy-
Taylor entertained with his trick dog,
Jack. Favors for the guests were an-
I intal cookies, and each one had a bal-
I toon and a box of confetti. Much tner-l
j rlment prevailed throughout the even-;
lng.
Several musical numbers were en-j
joyed and Judge Hiyit addressed the
Association.
