CHRISTIAN SCIENCE SERVICES
Christian Science Services are
held in Uvalde every Sunday morn-
ing at 11 o’clock.
“Ancient and Modern Necroman-
cy, Alias Mesmerism and Hypnotism,
Denounced” is the subject of the Les-
son-Sermon which will be read in
all Churches of Christ, Scientist, on
Sunday, November 26.
The Golden Text is: “In the mul-
titude of dreams and many words
there are also divers vanities: but
fear thou God" (Ecclesiastes 5:7).
Among the citations which com-
prise the Lesson-Sermon is the fol-
lowing from the Bible:" To him that
overcome will I grant to sit with
me in my throne, even as I also
overcame, and am set down with my
Father in his throne” (Revelation
3:21).
The Lsson-Sermon also includes
following passage from the Chris-
tian Science textbook, "Science and
Health with Key to the Scriptures”
by Mary Baker Eddy: “Ignorance
of God is no longer the stepping-
stone to faith. The only guarantee of
obedience is a right apprehension of
Him whom to know aright is Life
eternal” (Preface vii).

afternoon. President, presiding,
called on Mrs. Harp to give the de-
votional. Hymn, “I Love to Tell the
Story,” call to worship, “Ye Are My

Prayer of Thanksgiving Scripture
from John 1:35-42. Worship service
closed by reading a beautiful poem,
"I Met The Master."
Mrs. J. E. Peel was leader of the
program. Topic, "The Bible in Shoe
Leather." Theme was Evangelism,
giving suggestions how to work to
win others to Christ; through the
home, community and Church, and
by other means; stress the Sunday
School program to fellow workers in
Red Cross rooms, to men and wo-
men in service, to individuals in time
of distress and sorrow.
Our Lord wants to come and walk
around in our shoes, and live inside
our garments, and touch men's
hearts through us. Let us begin
NOW to let Christ so use us.
We were glad to have Miss Allene
Reed from the Business Circle with
us.
Hostess served delicious refresh-
ments.
