From where I sit... 61/ Joe Marsh
Doc Nurses
a Daydream
It’s a treat when I get together
with Doc Sherman. The Clarion
keeps me much too busy —and
Doc, well I think he puts in six-
teen hours a day at the hospital.
• But Tuesday—a beautiful day
—he and I slipped away for a ride
around Turtle Lake. Doc’s driv-
ing a 1956 humdinger — it’s like
riding on a cloud.
Anyway, at one point Doc
slowed almost to a halt. “Used to
fish there as a £oy, Joe,” ho said.
“Used to sit and imagine myself
up on the highway driving a
high-powered car. Nowadays, I
just sit here and wish I were
down there again.”
From where I sit, few of us are
ever content with the way things
are at any given moment. It’s hu-
man nature. On the other hand,
I’ve been footing for years that
someday everybody will show
enodgh good American tolerance
to respect his neighbor's right to
enjoyafriendlyglassof beer. When
that day comes I assure you that
I’ll never want to change back.
and PYE. The flower committee
for June was appointed.
Mrs. C. G. Franks presented the
interesting Bible study on David,
the Son, the Husband and the Fa-
ther.
The birthday offering program
was led by Mrs. John Brown. A lit-
tle play was presented by Mes-
dames E. W. Snearly, J. E. Tatum,
Tommie Taylor and Bob Seebsta,
showing the projects supported by
the Birthday offering. The pro-
gram was closed by prayer led by
Mrs. John Brown.
Refreshments were served hy the
hostess, Mrs. A. i’. Shanklin.
Twelve women were present.
