AySTHODIST CHURCH
Church School 9:45 a. m. The
Church School seeks to saturate all
living with the Book of Books.
Stormy days we need a cloak from
that book; hot days a shady path;
now we need a shower of manna or
a drink of cool living water; again
we want an arbor to rest in, or a pil-
grim staff, or we need a sword. How
many things there are in that bless-
ed volume! Join some class and
search the Book for those things
which it most surely has for every
one who will search and seek for
them
Morning Worship and holy com-
munion, 11 O’clock. Sermon topic,
“Christ, the Door.” All of life is a
wandering down a corridor with
doors on either side. We open and
close them or pass them by. Sad the
life that does not enter the door
opened by Christ!

Music Week, May 3-10. Sermon top-
ic, “God, Who Giveth Songs in the
Night," Job 35:10. The Christian re-
ligion has always been a singing re-
ligion; Christ made His advent with
the songs of angels. It is the only re-
ligion that gives a song in the night-
time of human experience: those
times of sorrow, loneliness, darkness
and dread, and death. The remark-
able thing about songs in the night
is that they are songs out of season.
Songs out of season are something to
take note of. That is what God does;
He giveth sofigs out of season.
The month of May will be Centen-
nial month in the local church. The
service on Mother’s Day will honor
the Pioneer women of Texas. Other
topics shall be: “Religion in Early

Ours,” “The Missions in Texas,”
“The Invader Today,” "Methodism
and the New Genreation.”
You are invited to worship at the
Methodist Church.

“Everlasting Punishment” is the
subject of the Lesson-Sermon whidft
will be read in all Churches
Christ, Scientist on Sunday, May^
The Golden Text is: "There is no
peace, saith the Lord, unto the
wicked.’ (Isaiah 48:22).
Among the citations which com-
prise the Lesson-Sermon is the fol-
lowing from the Bible: “The great
dragon was cast out, that old ser-
pent, called the Devil, and Satan,
which deceiveth the whole world: he
was cast out into the earth, and his
angels were cast out with him (Rev-
elation 12:9).
The Lesson-Sermon includes also
the following passage from the
Christian Science textbook, “Science
and Health with Key to the Scrip-
tures” by Mary Baker ddy: “He that
touches the hem of Christ’s robe and
masters his mortal beliefs, animal-
ity, and hate, rejoices in the proof of
healing,—in a sweet and certain
sense that God is Love (page 569).
