OIL FIELD NOTES
The work in the oil field is pro-
gressing nicely. Some eight or
ten new derricks are now up in
the vicinity of the new gusher
and some of the rigs are already
running About the usual amount
of work is still going on in nil tho
l old fields. Many oil prospectors
: are here from various parts of
J the country and we learn that
some fabulous prices have been
offered for land. It is also re-
ported that a forfeit is up to pur-
chase the new gusher at $40,000
but we cannot vouch for the cor-
rectness of this deal There is
much excitement and every train
brings in new prospector?.
