The political pot, both State
and National is beginning to sim-
mer. There will be plenty
doing from now on.
Judge W. R. Crockett of Colo-
rado has announced for
Representative from this the
10th district. It is generally
understood that he fs a Bailey-
ite, and will make the race prin-
cipally on that issue. The pres-
ent incumbent is A. C. Wilmeth
of Snyder, who will again make
against the practice, and if
Smith was today a state officer
instead of a federal officer, ) e
would be a law braker, and ,s
one to all intents and purposes,
as it is. He is violating the spirit
of this law every time he feeds
his boy at the ^public trough.
It is wrong in principle, it is
wrong in practice, and Judge
Smith should obey the spirit of
the laws of his state and country.

Refering to the appointment
of his son as his private secreta-
ry by Congressman Smith, and
branding the act as a defense of
nepotism, the Taylor County
News further complaines.

earnest solicition of Governor
Campbell, recently passed a law
The Bailey people new seem
to be anxious to submit the
names of delegates at large at
the primaries, since they turned
the proposition down at the
meeting of the democratic ex-
ecutive committee and since the
people of Texas registered a
kick. They now want the anti-
Bailey people to agree to an ad-
ditional pledge other than that
suggested by the election law.
Notice of Election.

cil of the City of Snyder that an
