Change to Make a Change...
The National Junior Honor Society of Cuero Junior High has recently collected $642.50 for
the victims of the Tsunami with “Change to Make a Change’’. Several officers of the Honor
Society went around the school to different classes on Jan. 10,12, and 14 asking students
for spare change. After adding the money collected from the first day and money students
had freely deposited into a jar in the cafeteria during their lunch times, the group had
already met their initial goal of $200. Their next goal was $500, and after the last collection
day they had exceeded their goal by $142.50. School administrators said they were proud
of the generosity and compassion of the junior high student body. (Contributed photo)

the gold medal for the Christian

The five teens, escorted by
Chris and Jeanine Coppedge,
traveled to Gospel Lighthouse in

against approximately 50 teens
representing various churches.
The Cuero Christian band,
The Cutting Edge, is composed of
Troy White, son of Douglas and
Debbie White, piano and vocal;
Mindy Brown, daughter of Bruce
and Sharon Brown and the late
Wanda Diebel Brown; Ashton
Coppedge, daughter of Chris and

performed “The More I Seek
You."
Also representing Trinity
Church and competing in the
contest was Erin Gregorcyk.
Erin, the daughter of Tom and

Am I?” in the Female Vocalist-

The Christmas season is all
wrapped up in Cuero and plan-
ning has begun for next year's
event. The 2004 Christmas in
the Park was a great success
with the addition of several
scenes to the lighted driving tour
in the Municipal Park.
A live Nativity, horse drawn
carriage, and cocoa and coffee at
an authentic chuck wagon at dif-
ferent times during Christmas in
the Park made the event extra
special this year! The December
Events Committee also hosted
the second annual lighted holi-
day parade Thanksgiving week-
end after the park opened the
prior Monday, Nov. 22. The park
remained open through the New
Year and was open nightly at no
charge from 6-10 p.m.
Donations were accepted to help
the event grow from year to year.
