There is to be a new railroad
run from McDona, Bexar oountv,
through At&aacoaa and McMul-
len counties to Bimmone City in
Live Oak county, a distance of
seventy miles.
Mrs, M. J.' Crowell, aged 50
years, living near Wichita Falls,
broke her peck by falling down
stairs Monday. She was found
by her children on their return
from school, and had evidently
been dead several hours.

Democrats Badly Defeated in the
National Election.
The election Tuesday resulted
in a tveepiog victory for the
Republican party in the United
States. Mr. Tafc was eleoted by
an overwhelming majority, the
estimate being that he will have
327 electoral votes out of 483
Every doubtful state went to the
Republican oolumn, with the ex-
ception of probably Nebraska.
In the national house of repre-
sentatives the Republicans will
have 208 members and the Dem-
ocrats will have 172. The sen-
ate will oontinue to be largely
Republican.
The amendment allowing an
inoresse in school tax carried in
the state, but the other two
were defeated,
