Some person or persons are
telling that Joe French had a part in
the death of my grandson, John
Odom. Our family knows better.
Our family knows who killed John
and why. When John was killed Joe
French was in the courthouse filling
out reports.
I checked this false statement out
that is being told on Joe French to
be sure it was being told. A friend of
ours’ name came up and I called
her. She told me she heard it from a
party and admitted she has told it to
others so I do know this false
statement is being told 1 know who
and why a certain person or persons
started telling this false statement.
It is a person that has a special in-
terest in one of Joe French’s op-
ponents.
I want to say to the persons that
are involved in this false statement,
“In the face of our dear Lord, is it
worth it?” I feel sorry for the per-
son or persons involved in this mat-
ter. I am not angry, but hurt.
I do not have a bad feeling against
either of Joe’s opponents. I try to
live a Christian life. I try to love
everyone.
Joe French told me when he first
announced that he was going to run
a clean race “ Win or Lose”. I do
not know how he will feel or what he
will do when he reads this.
In my heart I had to answer this. I
wish the parties involved would let
my grandson, John Odom rest. May
God Imve mercy on all of us. Why
did they bring it up at this par
ticular time?
When John's mother reads this, I
want her to keep her cool and call
her Dad.
(Signed) John Odom’s Gran-
dfather, H. 0. Riddle.
