Ladles Auxiliary of The
American Legion here In Llano
will be having its annual
Christmas Bazaar Saturday.
Dec. 12 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
As always, this event Is to help
sponsor our scholarship
program. This past year we gave
our scholarship to a young
woman from the Cherokee
school. She Is presently
attending the Dental School at
Del Mar College In Corpus
ChrlstL She has been thoughtful
1 enough to keep In touch with us
Recently, we sponsored a
Chill Cook-Off on the Frio River
and raised $350 that has been
sent to the Kerrville V.A.
Hospital for help In the
construction of an Altzhelmers
Unit that would allow the
patients access to the outside In
Inclement weather.

special ChlU CookrOff here at
the Legion Hall Jan. 9. It's

KODA sets
series of
meetings
A series of KODA meetings
will be available Monday
evenings aimed primarily at
school-age teenagers and young
adults with an alcohol or other
drug problem.
There will be no publicity or
last names used during the
meetings and they are free to
those being served.
The KODA meetings will be
offered free of charge Monday
evenings starting at 7:30 p.m. at
the Special Opportunity School
building at 206 E. Main in Llano.

members participated In the
District 7 4-H Food Show, held
Nov. 21 at the Angelo State
University Management.
Instruction, and Research
Center In San Angelo. Seventeen
counties in the Texas
Agricultural Extension Service's
West Central District were
Included In the event.
Juniors (ages 9-11) from
Llano County were Julie Jordan,
who placed 1st In the Main Dish
division; Jarah Smith, who
placed third in Breads and
Cereals; Kimberlee Matlack in
Fruits and Vegetables; and
Jordana Rode in Nutritious
Snacks and Desserts.
Intermediate contestants
(ages 12-13) were Jlma Jordan,
who placed 3rd in Nutritious
Snacks and Desserts and Tonya
Sawyer with a Main Dish entry.
Sylvia Osbourn of Llano
County served as a Judge. Also
accompanying the group to San
Angelo were Gayle Jordan.
