DeWltt county tomato grower

words in voicing the farmer’s
opinion of the situation sur-

in Cuero. Cuero has no market
in fact. Cuero i has ''offered
growers of this area no incen-

The Atotee of Thomas as Secre-

President Jack Howerton - of-the
Chamber of Commerce" who asked
for a vote of confidence and nakl
that he felt his candidate would do
more In the position In a shorter
period of time for the eity of Cuero
than any man who has filled the
post in the past twenty years.
Howerton said he had complete
faith In Thomas and his ability and
working together, with cooperation
of the board, that much could be
done to offset the ill effects of the
closing of the local flying field which
is tentatively Scheduled for Aug-

Earl Selman, retiring Secretary-
Manager of the Chamber of Com-

ey Thomas was one of the best
Chamber of Commerce prospects he
has ever ran across. Selman said
he felt sure Cuero was., gaining
’^rather than losing in the choice of
his successor.
The retiring Secretary left early
Saturday morning for his new po6t

Thomas was out of the city Thurs-
