Following are Ranch Rodeo
rules:
Awards
Gold and silver trophy belt
buckles created by Ben
Sedgewick, Weiser, Idaho, will
be presented to each member
of the high Point Team.
Top Hand-Top
Horse Awards
The Top Hand will be deter-
mined by the rodeo judges,
based upon his performance
during both rodeo perfor-
mance. Every contestant is
eligable for the Top Hand
award. The winner will re-
ceive a special gold and silver
trophy belt buckle created by
Ben Sedgewick, Weiser,
Idaho.
The Top Horse will be deter-
mined by a special Top Horse
judge, backed by the opinions
of therodeo judges. Each horse
is eligable to receive the award.
Each horse must wear the as-
signed number for both arena
performances to be judged.
The rider of the top horse will
receive a special, silver-
mounted bit from Seminole
Bit Co., Seminole, Texas.
No horse or contestant can
receive the Top Horse or Top
Hand Awards two years in a
row.
General:
The eligibility requirements
for ranch teams are:
1. Each contestant must be an
owner, family member, full
time employee or anyone who
has earned a minimum of $300
cash wages a year from the
sponsoring ranch. NO PRCA
BRONC RIDERS OR
ROPERS.
2. All contestants must wear
western hats (no caps), chaps,
boots and long sleeve shirts
while in the arena.
3. Each team must have their
identifying colors displayed.
4. All horses must be work-
ing ranch horses, owned by
the ranch or by the employees
of the ranch.
5. Each team shall designate
a captain to act as spokesman
for the team in any discussion
with the judges.
6. The final placing of the
team for the rodeo will be de-
termined by the total points
accumulated in all events dur-
ing both rodeo performances.
Point System
Points are based on the num-
ber of teams in competition.
With 12 teams, the first place
team in each event will be
awarded 12 points, with 2nd,
3rd, 4th, etc. being awarded

the respective points down to
1 point for the last place team.
Points are based on qualified
times.
Any teams that tie in score
during an event will have the
disputed points added together
and divided equally.
A secret drawing will be held
by the judges prior to the start
of the rodeo to select a first-
choice tie-breaker event. This
event will be listed on a sheet
of paper and placed in a sealed
envelope. The same procedure
for a second tie-breaker event
will be followed.
Should two or more teams tie
for the final placings, the en-
velope will be opened and the
