JESUS shall reign where e’er the sun does his successive Journeys run.” That
is the radiant faith of every true Christian. We are sure of the world’s need of
the light that flows from the sacred page and from the candles that we have
lighted before Him who is the Light of the world. We are equally confident that
our Christ has what a needy world must have for its health and its salvation. The
needy world and the adequate Lord must be brought together; wherever He has
been preached men have called the message ‘Good News’ and darkened places have
become bright with promise and with assurance of final redemption.
But who is to win the world for Christ? Will He not draw all men to himself
if He is but lifted up? And how can that be done? Of course the preachers must
do their part and missionaries must be trained to travel every sea in His service.
The air ships must become bearers of the Eternal Word, the Bread of Life, even
as they are chartered to carry the products of human industry. They link nation
to nation and continent to continent for the commerce of the spirit as well as for
the spreading of human goods. That means that you and I shall become the every-
day ambassadors of the Gospel, that every ship whether of the sea or of the air, on
which we travel shall be pressed into the service of the Lord of Life. In other
words, we must have done with the old slogan, ‘Let George do it.’ Every land is a
missionary land and every Christian must become responsible for the spreading of
the Gospel. The early Christians carried the news of God’s love and grace when-
ever they traveled around the earth; Paul and Barnabas were but two of a mighty
company who were sent out by the Spirit of God. Let your light shine! Go
to Church regularly.
