means n itformutloii along the line ot
freight rates or it means a straight
out tight
Purther than this Mr Parker did not
desire to express himself until ho had
bten ofilclally notlrud
Another railroad man was nsked
what lie thought about the Santa IVs
withdrawal and said It was an as-
sured fait that tho action had been
brought on by an onslaught u rales
by the Missouri Kansas and Texas
The Santa Jo road wished to be Inde-
pendent of thu Triune association und
therefore hod withdrawn Tho with-
drawal nf tho Santa Pe would mean
tho disintegration of the Southwestern
Trafllc association as he did not con
aldor it woutd bo practicable to con
tlnuu It when one of the most Impor-
tant roads was out As to whethir
there would be i > rate war as the result
of the Santa IVs withdrawal the rail-
road man said It could not be much
