ALL FOR PROMOTION
Fort Worth Business Men

NEED CONCERTED ACTION
A Builnesi Men Cub That Will Ad-
mit of All Dotonglng a Necessity
Opinion of Business Men
The sentiment favoring an organltatlon
of business men ot > ort Worth Is rapidly
spreading That noihlng la ever gained
without an effort and that no effort on the
part of a city except a united one ever suc-
ceeds la a fact long ago conceded by all
sensible business men Sine yesterday a
Interview with business men were published
the Oacelte has received many expressions of
approval ot tbe scheme to organise the busi-
ness men ot Fort Worth Into a body that
will represent all lines of trad and all
tradesmen great and small In taking tb
first step In this movement the Uaiette la
sImply voicing a popular demand for mora
thorough organltatlon aa the replies to
queries made yesterday afternoon will readily
convince the reader One prominent busi-
ness man and capitalist said I feel now
as though something was about to be done
When everybody Is busy evorybody Is nappy
and contented and with the dawning of a
revival In business I know of nothing better
to do than unite and take advanWige ot It
There could not be a more propitious time
In my opinion to organ lie a promotive club
than right now
In a hurried walk up and down Main
street yesterday the following business men
thus expressed themselves to a Gazette re-
porter
J U Humphreys I believe In organiza-
tions ot all kinds and It occurs to tue that
this Is one ot the good kind I am always
In favor ot anything to promote the interests
of tho merchants and the town of Fort
Worth and will assist ao far aa my ability
goes
F M Howe I think the promotive club
a good Idea and would favor Its organiza-
tion
G Y Smith Thla will be a very good
thing If the proper enthusiasm Is shown
We need both organization and enthusiasm
and can accomplish but llttte without both
Let us get together and do something
C II Fry Son We aro very much In
favor ot this more and think It will be a
benefit to every merchant In the city
W E Stmmat I believe that the peo
Plo will have to push the city and not wait
for the city to push them A promotive
club Is a good medium through which to ac-
complish this muter
A S Reed As an abstract proposition
I think the Chamber of Commerce compe
tent to do all necessary to be done but I
am not sufficiently poattd In the matter per-
haps to express nn Intelligent opinion
J P Nicks This strikes me aa being a
good thirg We ne < id concerted action Al-
most every other city In tho state is doing
aomc thing tn this line and It would be a
good thing for citizens of Fort Worth to all
v ork for tbe same object
II L Lathrop A very desirable end
but It suems to me that the Chamber of
Commerce should be able to look after
these matters They do In other places
Sam Rosen I would favor It It could
do no hurt and might do some gool
John W A > cock I will Indorse anything
that will further the Interests of the city
Organization accomplishes everything
