elle Jacobson; Class D, William
H. Nelkin and Sam Robinson;
Class E, Devora Geller and Mar-
cus Jacobson.
The Dr. A. Axelrod Award was
given Sam Robinson; the Mr. and
Mrs. Meyer B. Cohen Awards to
Devora Geller and Marcus Jacob-
son; and the Mr. and Mrs. Harry
A. Gurwin Award to Doris Sam-
uelson.

Rabbi Max Geller announces
the following schedule for the
summer months: morning services
at 6:30 a. m., evening services at
8:15 p. m. Kabboloth Sabbath,
Fridays at 8 p. m., Saturday
morning at 9 a. m. The Study
Circle meets at 6:30 p. m., the
Minchah Services at 7:30 p. m.,
and Sholos Sudes at 8 p. m., on
Saturdays.
The Hebrew School is in ses-
sion daily from 8:30 to 11:30 a. m.

organized a Bar Mitzvah Club,
open to every boy who has been
Bar Mitzvah at this Congrega-
tion. The Club will meet every

League wish to extend their con-
gratulations to all of the gradu-
ates and eo n firman ts of this
season.
The Houston Chapter of Miz-
rachi Women held their final
meeting of the season on June
9th at the Jewish Community
Center, at which time various re-
ports were given. Mrs. J. Sas-
lavsky reported that 250 pounds
of wearing apparel colected by
her committee, was forwarded
to New York where it will be
sent on to Palestine together
with clothing collected by the
other 139 Chapters of Mizrachi
Women throughout the United
States and Canada. The balance
of clothing collected here will be
sold at a rummage sale to be
held in the near future.
Mrs. M. Schnurr gave a grati-
fying Bond Sales report, and
Mrs. Chas. Magids reported on
the many new members secured
by her committee.
Rabbi Nathan Colish was guest
speaker, and the musical program
was in charge of Mrs. N. Colish
who presented her daughters,
Annette Loreli and Etta Moselle,
in a string ensemble.
The meeting and program was
concluded with a luncheonette.

Mr. and Mrs. Sam Freedman
announce the Bar Mitzvah of
their son, Alfred Gene, on Sat-
urday morning, June 19, at the
Adath Yeshurun Synagogue.
Mr. and Mrs. Freedman will

day, June 20, from 3 until 6
p. m.

At the Confirmation services
held at Congregation Beth El,
Idelle Ringel was awarded the
prize for the outstanding student
of the class of 1943. Other con-

ATTENTION! LADIES
The B’nai B’rith Women’s Aux-
iliary has promised the Local
Chapter of the Red Cross to make
an appeal for volunteers to work
at the various centers. There is
a crying need for additional vol-
unteers to work at the surgical
branch centers located in all parts
of the city. The Women’s Aux-
iliary works in Sears air-condi-
tioned branch and Weingarten’s
air-conditioned store on West
University Blvd. Please register
at either of these two branches,
or any other branch convenient to
you.
Blood donors are also urgently
needed, and you are requested to
contact Mrs. Leon Robinowitz,
chairman of this project for the
B. B. Auxiliary.
Mrs. Sam S. Daum entertained
on Sunday, June 6, with a pyrex
shower honoring her sister. Miss
Sara Ginsberg of San Antonio, a
bride-elect. Twenty-five per-
sonal friends of the honoree form-
ed the personnel. Gladiola in
the various spring colors decorat-
ed the reception rooms Mia
Ginsberg, who has been the gueet
of her sister for the past two
weeks, has returned to her home
in San Antonio.

WORKMEN’S CIRCLE
The Ladies Club of the Work-
men's Circle is continuing its
drive for serviceable used cloth-
ing to be sent to Russia under
the auspices of the Jewish Labor

mation concerning this.
PIONEER WOMEN
At a board meeting of the Pion-
eer Women’s Organization held
at the home of Mrs. M. J. Gerber,
plans were made for a Turkey
Supper to be given Sunday, July
11, at the Beth Jacob Auditorium.
Proceeds from this affair will go
to the Child Rescue Fund—which
project gathers refugee children
from the war torn countries In
Europe to Palestine, where they
are rehabilitated.
During the course of the eve-
ning, a mirror will be raffled,
and games will be played. Make
