Bake at 375 for about 45

NEW ORLEANS PRALINES
Combine 3 cups of
granulated sugar. I cup of
buttermilk. 1 tsp of soda, 2
sticks of margarine, a pinch of
salt and 2 tbsp. of white corn
syrup.
£ook until mixture forms a
hard ball when spooned into
cold water Remove from heat
and beat in 4 cups of pecans
and 1 tsp. of vanilla.
Drop b>* spoonsful! on waxed
japer and allow to cool before

following a double ring
ceremony at Cedar Bayou
Methodist Churrh
The Rev, Roy Felder per-
lormed the June 12 ceremony
Robert Sanders, Miss Lisa
Head, Miss Suzi Kudla and
Mike Kay of Conroe provided
the music.
The bride, formerly Miss
Donna Denise Cole, is the
daughter of Mr, and Mrs.
Milton Lee Cole of 1511 Nar-
cille. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Leath
of 901S. Seventh are parents of
the groom.
The bride chose a white
peau de soie empire gown
featuring a sweetheart
neckline, A-line skirt and court
length train. The high collar
and long, full sleeves were
made of Venise lace. The gown
was sprinkled with re-
embroidered Alencon lace and
pearls.
Her silk illusion veil depend-
ed from a crown which was
corcheted by the bride's great
aunt. She carried a bouquet of
white roses, carnations,
stephanotis. gypsophila and
fern.
Maids of honor were Miss
Dawne Cole, sister of the bride
and Miss Brenda Dunn,
Special attendant was Miss
Elizabeth Von Manger of Vien-
na, Austria.
Bridesmaids were Miss De-
nise Hebert and Miss Cindi En-
Bridesmaids wore dresses of
polyester crepe with floral
flocking in rainbow colors,
Each carried,a spring bouquet
with ribbons matching their
dresses.
Best men were Roger Leath
and Jerry Leath, brothers of
the groom. Special attendant
was James Leath, brother of
the groom. Groomsmen were
Mike Dowling and dames
Massengale.
Ushers were Lee Cole,
brother of the bride and Jerry
Leath. Rhonda Sandell was
flower girl and Dean Rackley
was ringbearer. Candlelighters
were Kathy Rackley and
Annette Leath.

The John Lewis chapter of the’ Daughters of the American

The last meeting was held in the home of Mrs. W. F. Whitten
with Mrs. D. M. Higgs-as co-hostess. Mrs. A. F. Drouilhet,

Mrs. J. E. Peters represented the chapter at the Flag Day,
luncheon in Houston.
Special guests for the meeting were Mrs. Allan Johnson, senior
president of the Children of the American Revolution and Mrs.
- William Doon, state historian . Mrs. Doon presented the program
on "The Making of George Washington.".

Chapter Sets July Meeting
Delta Beta chapter of Phi Sigma Alpha will meet at 7:30 p.m.
July 10 in the home of Mrs. Hugh Osborne of 1903 Mockingbird.
At the June-meeting in the home of Mrs. Ted Sims, Mrs, W.B.
Franklin presented slides of a recent tour of several South Pacific
Islands and Australia. Small cups of soup were served to see if
guests could identify from which country they originated.
Among the 14 attending were special guests: Mrs. Mildred
McCorquodale of Mont Belvieu.

George Garrett. Guests were Mrs. T.A. Sieferth and Mrs. J.F.
