Schools
(Continued from Page 1)
Elementary is expected to
reach 375 to 400 when school
opens there T uesday, with
an estimated peak enroll-
ment of 550 before the
migrant school opens Nov-
ember 1, Principal Salva-
dor Barron, said Wednes-
day. Thirty students have
registered in Kennedy’s pre-
school program. Providing
the enrollment rests around
375 mark, Mr. Barron said,
all classes will be scheduled
in the main building, with-
out the use of the two buil-
dings across the street. Du-
ring the summer, the rooms
of the main building have
been painted and much of the
furniture repainted. Mr.
Barron termed it, "A good
face-lifiting."
The district will operate
five buses to serve the
schools. Buses will run on
regular schedules, except
for return trips which are
expected to be delayed 15
minutes due to the high
school’s new eight-period
day.
Principals at all the
schools have urged students
to register Thursday and
Friday if they have not done
so, therefore eliminating
some of the confusion on
September 5.
To Primera
Mrs. Marie Hughlett of El-
sa went to Primera on Mon-
day to visit her sister-in-
law, Mrs. Bill Phelps and
her husband.
