Keeling-McCaig Marriage Solemnized
In Candlelight Ceremony in Pasadena
marriage of Miss Kitty | father to her mother when they
Malone Keeling to A liber t Mar-
vin McCaig, Jr., was solemnized
in a double-ring candlelight cere-
mony performed by Rev. Lowell
F. Thompson at 7:30 in the eve-
ning, July 31, at the First Bap-
tist Church in Pasadena.
Miss Keeling is the daughter
at Mr. and IMrs. Doyle E. Keel-
tag of Pasadena and granddaugh-
ter of IMrs. W. A. Bressie of Cor-
sicana and Mr. and Mrs. T. G.
Keeling of Wortham.
The bride was given in mar-
riage by her father. Her exqui-
site floor length designer gown
of silk organza featured an A-
line skirt with appliques of peau
d’ ange lace encircling the deep
hem and into the center front.
The empire bodice and high neck
were of the same lace joined by
iduision. A detachable chapel
length train fell gracefully from
the high waist. The soft veil of
illusion, accented by tiny seed
pearls, was held by a Juliet cap,
fashioned with crystals and
pearls. She carried a beautiful
cascade bouquet of white gar-
denias, baiby’s breath, and white
butterfly roads, accented with
pearls, lace-lone, and pearl dust.
In the bridal tradition, Miss
Keeling walked to the altar with
a six pence in her shoe, placed
there by her father. Her gold
locket, loaned to her by her
mother, was a gift from her
were high school swethearts.
The maid of honor was Miss
Kathleen Durm of Pasadena.
Bridesmaids were Mrs. James
Ferguson, Huntsville; Miss Pam
Webb and Miss Karen Ogura,
Pasadena; and (Miss Brenda
Crisman, Houston and Ft. Worth.
They were identically attired in
floor length gowns of cora mira
mist and taffeta.
Little Miss Nancy Rae Arnold
of Waller, the groom’s niece,
served, as flower girl.
Serving the groom as best man
was James Ferguson of Hunts-
ville. Hal Werlein of Austin,
Kenneth Schribdrt of Huntsville,
Glenn Keeling of Pasadena, and
Ray Arnold of Waller were
groomsmen. Carl Patoen of Wal-
ler and Thomas Keeling of Pasa-
dena served as ushers.
Immediately following the
ceremony a reception was held
in the church fellowship hall.
Presiding at the bride’s table
were Mrs. G. B. Barrington, Mrs.
S. J. Kuhlmam, iMrs. C. M Webb,
Jr., Mrs. H. L. Winter, and1 Miss-
es Mary Shaw. Anna Bates and
Shelia Lalumandiief. Serving at
the groom’s table were his sis-
ters, Misses Linda and Betty Mc-
Caig, and Mrs. Ray Arnold.
The new Mrs. McCaig is a
graduate of Sam Rayburn Hiigh
School and is presently attend-
ing Sam Houston State Univer-
sity in Huntsville. IMr. McCaig
is a graduate of Waller High
School, and will graduate from
Sam Houston next year. He is
a member of the Army ROTC,
and belongs to the exclusive
Counter Guerilla unit. He is
currently on the Student Senate.
The1 couple will make their home
in Huntsville.
Following the ceremony the
happy eoupl'e, showered with
rice and many good wishes, left
for a wedding trip to Lake Tra-
vis and the surrounding Hill
Country.
Rehearsal Dinner
For Wedding Party
Miss Kitty Keeling and Buddy
McCaig were honored with a
steak dinner following the re-
hearsal of their wedding at the
First Bzptist Church in Paaa-
dena. (Mr. and: Mrs. A. M. Mc-
Caig Sr. of Waller, parent* of the
groom, were hosts for the occa-
sion heid at Captain John’s Din-
ing Room in Houston. The
couple presented lovely gifts to
their wedding attendants.

(Miss Terry Newberry and
Jesse Tom Peurifoy Jr. were
married at 2 p. m. Sunday in the
home of her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Terrell Newberry. 756 Nor-
wood, in Beaumont.
The Rev. Fretr McIntyre of
Houston, uncle of the bride, of-
ficiated at the ritee before mem-
bers of the immediate families.
Parents of the bridegroom are

A reception was held following
the ceremony.
The couple will make their
home in Galveston. The 'bride
holds a BJ5. and master’s degree
from Lamar State College of
Technology, where she was a
member of Alpha Delta Pi Soror-
ity. She will teach this fall in
Galveston.
The bridegroom, a graduate of
Lamar Tech, is a third year med-
ical student at the University
of Texas Medical Branch in Gal-
veston. He was a member of
Sigma Chi Fraternity.

The minutes of the previous
meeting were read and the love
offering was taken. Sixteen
shut-in visits were reported.

Chancellor, Mrs. F. L. Bays, and
Mrs. Floy Lamb assisting.
Mrs. Irvin served a delicious
refreshment plate, assisted by

Dr. and Mrs. Houston FosteT
of Kingsville visited her mother,
Mrs. Hugh Burleson, last week-
end, then on Wednesday visited
in McKinney and on to vacation
in the Ozarks. Mrs. Burleson re.
eerved a call from her daughter
Sunday night; they had been in
a head-on car accident in Okla-
homa on their return home.
Their car was damaged beyond
driving and hickily they came
out without a scratch.
Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Hodges of
Dallas visited her mother, Mrs.
J. W. Tanner, Saturday. Mrs.
Tanner returned with them Sun-
day for a week’s visit.
(Miss Dixie Schrieber is visit-
ing Miss Joan Miligan in Corsi-
cana this week.

of Dallas spent the weekend
with her mother, Mrs. Clark Du-
bose. Mrs. Jim 'McCarry accom-

from the hospital in Waco last

Receives Certificate
From State Asso'n. 1
Mrs. Bernice Bennett, presi-
dent of the Bi-Stone Affiliate
No. 72, is in receipt of a large
certificate indicating that the
Bi-Stone Affiliate is a full
fledged member of Texas Hair-
dressers and Cosmetologists As-
sociation, Inc. of Texas. The
Bi-Stone Affiliate has members
from Teague, Wortham, Mexia
and Groesbeck.
Mrs. Bennett and other mem-
bers of the Bi-Dtone Affiliate
took an active part in sponsor-
ing new legislation during the
62nd Session of the Texas Leg-
islature to improve the hair-
dressing and cosmetology stand-
ards in the State of Texas. This
legislation passed and was signed
by Governor Preston Smith.
Mrs. Bennie Gireen of Palestine
is president of the state organi-
zation.
