with Groesbeck by a score of 36
to 27. William Carroll and Gary Tis-
dale had 11 and 10 points respective-
ly. In the second game, the Eagles
defeated Oakwood 26 to 15. William
Carroll was high point with 12
points.
In the championship game, the
Eagles were handed a 25 to 24
lost by Buffalo. Carroll was high
point with 10 points. The Eagles
won second place.

Held Meeting Jan. 21
The Unit III Homemakers met
Tuesday, January 21, in the Home-
making Building. Miss Mary Sue
Williams, who was guest speaker,
spoke on weddings and their prepar-
ation. She explained the importance
of such an event and elaborated on
the careful preparation needed For-
mal and informal types of weddings
were discussed in detail. Pictures
were shown of wedding dresses,
which were reasonably priced The
group of girls enjoyed the informa-
tive discussion.
Lelia Pitmon, president of Unit
III, led the closing ritual, after which
Mary Dixon, song leader, led the
group in the singing of “Sing Your
Way Home.”

congratulations on onactmont of tho vocational oducation
bill by tho 86th Congress, in a White House bill signing
ceremony. Others in tho photograph immediately behind
Senator Yarborough and tho Prosidont are, loft to right,
Senators Javits, Randolph and Morsa. This bill expanded
vocational education; extended the National Defense fduca-
fion Act throe years, increasing funds for student loans in
colleges and univarsitias; and extended the law for aid to
school districts in impacted areas. Senator Yarborough, a
member of the Labor and Public Welfare Committee, was
invited to the White House ceremony as one who had a key
role in enactment of this bill.
