daughter of Mrs James W. Hinton
and the late Mr. Hinton of Tuscan,
Arizona, became the bride of Ed-
ward Neal Shumate HN, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Shumate of Cam-1
eron, formerly of Fairfield, Tues-
day, Feb. 4 The ceremony was pre-!
formed in the Charleston Heights
Baptist Church in Charleston. S. C j
where they are both stationed with 1
the U. S. Navy.
Attendants were Jane Cadle ETN3
and Donald Tanner HM3. A recep-1
tion followed the ceremony.
The bride is a graduate of Pue-
blo High School and was employed
at Mountain States Telephone Co.
before entering the service. She grad-
uated from Electronics school at
Great Lakes Naval Station in Illi-
nois.
Mr. Shumate is a graduate of Yoe
High School in Cameron and South-
west Texas State College in San
Marcos. He plans to re-enter college
after severance from the navy to
complete his pharmaceutical educa-
tion.
The couple will make their home
temporarily at 1916 Tulip Street,
Charleston, S. C.

Ethel Dick of Calvert and the groom
is the son of Mrs. R W. Montgo-
mery of Fairfield.
The couple will make their home
in Wharton where Mr Montgomery
is a faculty member in the Wharton
schools.

Fulmer, both of Houston, were mar-
ried here Saturday, February 1 at
the home of the grooms brother,
Rev M R. F'ulmer, pastor of Round
Prairie Baptist Church.
Rev. Fulmer performed the im-
pressive double ring ceremony.
Beautiful candelabra-* decorated the
living room where vows were re-

A small reception was held after
the ceremony with wedding cake and

were present for the meeting. The

4-H Club Meets
At Dew School
The Dew-Lanely 4-H Club met
Monday night at 7 o'clock at the Dew
School.
The meeting was called to order
| by the president, Jackie Pickens and
the minutes of the last meeting were
read by the secretary, Nancy Eng-
lish.
Loyd Lane and Buster Haggen
were In charge of the program and
they presented Mrs. TravLs Evans
who spoke to the group on Hawaii,
her native country.
Following the program, refresh-
ments were served and games, led
by Sybil Carter and Nancy Eng-
lish, were played.
Forty-three persons were present
for the meeting The next meeting
will be March ».

In road construction, I have been widely known as an organizer.
To organizize men and equipment to obtain more benefit from
