Jerry and Bert and bought an
additional 75 ewes.
Charles and Jerry Robinson,
of the Stewards Mill commun-
ity, also received 10 ewes last
year. They have paid back
their 10 lambs, have three lambs
left. 107 pounds of woo) and
their 10 ewes clear. They have
bought an additional 35 ewes.
Several oilier farmers have
recently purchased small flocks.
Giles Kent of Fairfield, recent-
ly purchased 75 ewes. His chil-
dren. Johnny and Donna, already
had 33 ewes. Papa wanted some
of that good money too.

Two Freestone County 4-H
Club boys are at A. & M. Col-
lege this week attending the
State 4-H Club Roundup. Gene
Knowles, of Streetman, won the
county and district 1-H tractor
operators contest, and is compet-
ing in the state contest. He is
competing against 11 winners
from the other districts. Also
attending the roundup is Mucky
Ivy, of Fairfield, along with
the county agent. This event is

SHEEP PROGRAM LOOKS
BETTER ALL THE TIME
The youth sheep program that ]
was started in 1954 is really tak-
ing hold. This program was
started with ten boys. Original I
purpose of the program was to
get the boys started with sheep,
and to demonstrate to other
fanners that sheep production
is a good enterprise in this area
The boys have done very well
with their sheep. Some have
raised as many as 140 per cent
lamb crop. Each boy was to pay
hack to tile program five iambs |
This is the same number he
j received ewes to start with.
They had three > eai - in which

lambs, and still have their wool
and ewes clear. Jerry ami Bert
Richards received ten ewes
