Pot's Party Line
By PATRICIA ANDERSON
FHS is alive again at last aft-
er summer vacation. As you can
guess, the students are glad to
be back. Well, most of them,
are anyway.
The Freshman Class has 53
members and all 53 seem to be
enjoying their first week in
high school. Linda Coates does
not understand the point of ly-
ing with her face in the grass,
yet, but she doesn't question the
upper classmen.
If you notice the seniors
flashing their right hands, look
closely and you'll find they are
only trying to show off their
new class rings! Of course,
they’re all of the same pattern,
but Gloria Brown seems to
think she got the prettiest one.
Mr. Oakes is having his share
of problems trying to get each
student’s schedule straight.
Wonder if he’ll ever find a way
to get Hurt Richards out of the
girls’ P. E. eiass? Especially
since Hurt likes it that way!
The FHS Hand is enjoying be-
ing under the leadership of Mr.
Williamson, even though the
band members keep trying to
make a speech class out of band
period.
Glad to see Sydney ivy back
on the Eagle squad after receiv-
ing a knee injury last year.
Hubert Jackson wouldn’t en-
roll in Typing II until he found
he’d be in the room with 15
girls. Now he rather likes the
idea!
Surely hope Weldon Sawyer
makes it in bookkeeping. This
morning he couldn’t even find
the waste basket!
The Eagles lost their game
with Centerville last Friday
night, but hope to make up for
it this Friday night. As always,
we are all hoping lor a victory
as our team visits Elkhart to
challenge the Eiks.

Resolutions Of The
New School Year
By CAROLYN HOWELL
Every new school year almost
everyone makes many new res-
olutions. Usually he or she is
going to do better school work,
participate in more activities,
be more courteous to their
teachers and fellow students,
and just he an all around good
citizen. After the first month
of school most of these people
forget their resolutions and fall
back into their old rut, fall
down in their school work, and
become as rude as usual.
This year, let’s all make our
new resolutions and stick with
them. If you start to fall back
on your resolutions, remember,
"Rome wasn’t built in a day,”
start over but try harder; if
each and every one does this,
Fairfield High School will be
a better place to be for five out
of our seven days of every week.
