WEATHER EXTRA
GLOBAL WARMING OR COOLING?
We just suffered through our
seventh-coldest November on record here
in North Texas. In fact, it was colder than
normal everywhere from the Rockies to the
East Coast. So does that mean global
warming is fiction? Not at all. Satellite
observations show that worldwide, this
past November was the second-warmest in
the 35 years of satellite records that began
in 1979. And 10 of the 11 warmest
Novembers have occurred since 2002.

Multiple agencies responded
to a fatal fire Friday evening in
Sanger.
Sanger Fire Department Lt.
Casey Welbom said crews were
dispatched to Dobbs Road after
someone from the residence re-
ported a fire at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
Upon arrival, the home was
fully engulfed in flames and the
structure had already begun to
collapse, he said.
“We had to go right into de-
fense mode,” Welbom said. “The
fire was already completely out
of control.”
Police: Man reports robbery

Village East Drive in reference
to a home invasion, police re-
cords show.
Upon arrival, police said the
victim reported that three black
men entered his apartment and
displayed a firearm.
He said several items were
stolen from his apartment.
No injuries were reported
and the case is under investiga-

Three men were reportedly
in the single-wide mobile home,
but only two made it out alive,
officials said.
Welbom said the man who
died couldn’t make it out be-
cause of the smoke.
Troy Taylor, chief death in-
vestigator for Denton County,
said the man who died was esti-
mated to be 83 years old.
Taylor said they will have to
use dental records, if available,
to properly identify the victim.
Fire officials said the other two
men were treated for smoke inha-
lation and released at the scene.
Welbom said the grass sur-
rounding the home also caught
BLOTTER
detention, according to reports.
His friend was also arrested
and charged with public intoxi-
cation.
There were no further details
on the report.
