A GOOD POSITION.
Can be had by any ambitious
voting men and ladies in the field
of "Wireless" or Railway teleg-
raphy. Since the 8-hour law be-
came effective, and since the
Wireless companies are establish-
ing stations throughout the coun-
; trv there is a great shortage of
telegraphers. Positions pay be-
ginners from to $90 tier month,
with good chance of advancement,

Immigrants Sold at Dook.
It la pointed out by the London
Chronicle that although the modern
Immigrant to American porta may be
“sold” in a way, he ia never sold In
the same sense as were those Immi-
grants of the eighteenth century whose
fate one gathers from an advertise-
ment in a New York paper of 1774.
The advertisement runs: “Servants
lust arrived from Scotland, to be sold
on board the Commerce, CapL Fergru-
aon, master, lying at the ferry stairs,
among which are a number of weav-
ers. tailors, blacksmiths, nailers, shoe-
makers, butchers, batters and spin-
sters, 14 to 36 years of age. For
terms apply to Henry White or said
master on hoard.**
Safeguard to Health.
One of the most needful and moat
important safeguards to health is the
recent invention of the germ-proof
telephone mouthpiece. This device,
made of clear crystal glass. Is in-
tended to replace the filthy rubber
mouthpieces In common use, which
furnish all sorts of germs an ideal
breeding place. It has received the
enthusiastic indorsement of doctors,
bacteriologists and boardB of health
wherever Introduced and Is approved
by all operating telephone companies.
The glass part can he Instantly re-
moved for cleaning and can be re-
placed as instantly. It can be wiped
olean without removal. It is less liable
to breakage than the ordinary rubber
mouthpleoe and admits light to all the
parts of the device, thus securing an
extra good sanitary condition.—Illus-
trated Sunday Magazine.
