The Orange Grove Rifle Club
Hall was '.veil filled by town and
outside people from Alice, Skid-

The affair closed with a dance
free for all who attended the
entertainment. At the hour of
twelve, midnight, just as Sun-
day morning arrived, the people

Judges and Clerks and we will
ask you to be very careful in
this and select them from dif-
ferent local political factions
where possible. In our select-
ion of presiding officers we tried
to get men who were not mixed
up in any political faction, a
man whom we thought would
give a sqare deal to every voter
and one who will conduct the
election in a fair and honorable
way and according to law.
We think we succeeded in
getting such a man and we want
you to use just as much dis-
cretion and good judgement in
the selection of your assistants
as we have done in selecting
ours.
“Such presiding judge shall
select an associate judge and two
clerks to assist in conducting the
election. Two additional clerks
may be appointed, but only when
in the opinion of the presiding
judge, there will be more than
100 votes polled at the primary
election in the precinct.”
The polls open at 8:30 a. m.
sun time and close at 7:00 sun
time. Finish all the work be-
fore leaving the polling place
and have the returns here as
early as possihie.
We do not want any law suits
over the results of the election
that may be charged to our mis-
management. If supervisors
are asked for allow just as you
want to so long as they are not
in the way of the work of hold-
ing the election. But we want
to impress on you that YOU are
it than they do it is your busi-
ness and not theirs.
Give every voter a square deal
according to the law.
The Test.
You will find among the sup-
plies a Test that the Democratic
Party ha*- gotten up and this
test is to be given to EVERY
voter. Each and every one
should swear to and sign it BE
FORE he obtains a ticket. If
he scratched a single candidate
or question on the Democratic
ticket at the last general elec-
tion or if he voted for or against
any man or measure that was
not on the democratic ticket at
that time he is NOT ENTITLED
to vote at this primary.
Please carry this out to tho
letter
Swear each voter and at the
close of the polls write out this
form at the bottom of the signa-
tuies and sigh it officially:
“Sworn to and subscribed be-
fore me this the 27th day of
July. A. D. 1918.”

Secretary
Voters, Heed the
Voice of Your Conscience
Sometimes when a voter starts
to make out hjs ballot on election
day he votes in some respects
differently than the way he had
previously almost fully deter-
mined to vote. The reason for
this change is that at the very
moment he commences to mark
his ballot he realizes more fully
the great privilege and power of
the ballot placed in his hands,
and being honest at heart he
really wants to cast a ballot that
is expressive of justice. It is at
this moment that the voice of
destinies— the‘‘still small” voice,
dictates to him the correct choice,
and he then casts aside the
fallacious and dishonest argu-
ments that have been poured in-
to his ears, and he votes for
what he at that moment con-
ceives to just and right.
We have no doubt aa to how
you will vote if, when you come
to our name on the ballot, you
will stop a second, recall to
memory the many years of public
service we have rendered Jim
Wells county and the democratic
party without hope of reward.
The least you can do now is to
show vour appreciation by vot-
ing for us for county treasurer.
