court of general jurisdiction upon asubject mat-
ter tri bin the ordinary soops of its power and
proceedings is entitled to such absoluie verity
that in a collateral action even where the
record is silent as to notice the presumption
ubeu not contradicted by the record itself that
the court had jurisdiction of the person also is
fo conclusive that evidence aliunde will not be
admitted to contradict It In regard to the
lodfment of a Justice of the peace the cases of
wniixins vs Ball 52 Tex CM and Bumpas vs
Fuhtr therein referred to are authority for
holding that it is not necessary for everything
to affirmatively appear in the record which is
required to exist to confer upon them jurisdic-
tion with regard to the person or snbject matter
bet they do not hold that like in courts ot
general Jurisdiction where the record is silent on
the lubject jurisdiction will be conclusively
preremed and no evidence to the contrary will
be heard Even when these courts are recog
mted as courts of general jurisdiction the fact
thit the prccjedincs are oral should justify a
distinction and we hold that in this instance the
era evidence as to sarvice was properly ad-
mitted the more so as the judgment was a re-
cent one Notwithstanding the deed to Mrs

tune This was propeily explained and the
deed correctly admitted Affirmed
