Marvin Hutto was in Rocksprings
Tuesday on business.
Mr. and Mrs. Buck Bishop returned
home Thursday from Alpine, where
they had spent several days visiting
with their grand daughter, Mrs. Grady
Nelon and family.
V. Askew of Del Rio. was here this
week visiting with friends.
Mrs. Jim Gobble was in Rock-
springs part of the week to be. with
her mother. Mrs. J. L. Balentine who
was ill of the flu.
“Icky” Hayes of Del Rio was a
guest Tuesday of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin
Hutto and “Debbie”.
Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Brotherton of
Alpine and Kerrville are spending the
week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
A. R. Brotherton.
Joe Hutto made a business trip to
Del Rio Saturday.
S. L. Guthrie of Rocksprings was
a business visitor here this week.
Mrs. Bill Varga came home Sunday
after being in Del Rio for a week in
the Del Rio hospital. She is doing
very nicely. Her daughter, Mrs. Vic
Lindley and son accompanied her
home and they plan to spend the week
with her parents.
Mr. and Mrs. Camp Brown were in
Rocksprings Wednesday on business.
“Son” Varga attended Commission-
ers’ Court Monday and Tuesday in"
Rocksprings.
Mr. and Mrs. Teil Bishop spent a
few days in Del Rio this week with
their daughter, Mrs. J. B. McCona-
gill.
Mr. and Mrs. York Newman and
Iveylea and “Totsy” Newman are in
Del Rio at the bedside of their fa-
ther 1. B. Newman, who is quite ill
in The Del Rio Hospital.
Ernest .Varga was in Uvalde Sat-
urday on business.
Mrs. Evan Hord and Mrs. Carrol
Harper of Del Rio were here this
week.
Sgt .and Mrs. Jerry McCulley were
in Del Rio Monday, where Sgt. Mc-
Culley took the train for Washington,
after receiving his orders for duty in
the Far East. Mrs. McCulley and son
Bobby Ray plan to stay with her par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hutto while
he is away.

where they took their infant dau-
ghter for medical care.
Mr. and Mrs. Roger Hutto were
business visitors in Del Rio this week.
Mr. and Mrs. John W. Carruthers,
Jr. of Sanderson were week-end guests
of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Davis.

JOE HULETTE FRANKS
GIVEN FAREWELL PARTY
Joe Hulette Franks, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Gay Franks, was honored with a
farewell party by his Sunday School
teacher, Mrs. Gus Storey, Wednes-
day, January 9th at the Storey home.
Games of Pinning the Tail on the
Donkey and guessing games were
played. Cold drinks and cookies were
served to Sue Nix, Sue Davis, Caro-
lyn Whittle, James Sweeten, John
Sweeten, Jim Martindale, Rodney
Cottle, Ronnie Luce and the honoree.
Each guest presented Joe with a gift.

Mrs. Vera Epperson and Mrs. E.
N. Lovelady were visitors in San An-
gelo two days last week. They visit
ed Mrs. Lovelady’s sister, Mrs. Fritz
Beck and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cloudt and
Mrs. Willie Cloudt of Kerrville spent
the week-end at the Frank Otis Cloudt
ranch. Mrs. Willie Cloudt remained
at the Cloudt ranch to visit several
weeks.
GIRL SCOUTS MEET
The Girl Scouts met Tuesday, Janu-
ary 8 at four o’clock. The girls work-
ed on their leather purses. Barbara Be-
cker served refreshments of cookies
and cold drinks. The meeting ad-
journed at 5:30.

Mrs. Johnny Gardner and baby
daughter, Holly, who was born at the
Del Rio Hospital December 21st, are
at home on the Gardner ranch near
Carta Valley.
Mrs. Minnie Harris of Carrizo
Springs arrived in Rocksprings Mon-
day to spend a few weeks visiting
with her sister, Mrs. Ida Greer.
Donald Hutchins returned Sunday
from Casa Grande, Arizona, where
he had spent the week vbiiing his
parents, Mr. and Mr>. Bold) Hutchins.
Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Singleton at-
tended the funeral of Mrs. Singleton's
father, Charles A. Wilson, at Kenedy
Friday. Mr. Wilson died very sud-
denly Thursday morning at the age
of 79 years. He is survived by his
wife and eight children.
Mrs. Buh Sweeten and little daugh-
ter, Glynda, of San Antonio visited
in Rocksprings this week with Mrs.
Pearl Custer.
Smoky W’ood of Barksdale was a
business visitor in Rocksprings Mon-
day and Tuesday, attending Com-
missions' Court.
Henry Reavis and son, Oscar, of
Vance were business visitors in Rock-
springs Tuesday. Oscar is on fur-
lough from his station with 'Jude
Sam in South Carolina.
Mrs. Doug Wilson and children
spent part of last week in Del Rio
visiting Mr. Wilson's relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Fred and Mr-.
Bob Fisher of Big Lake -pent the
week-end with relatives in Rock-
springs.

Fort Hood, Texas, was home with

Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Nunley return-
ed Wednesday from a week's visit
in Mexico City and Acapulco, Mexico.
