Water Solution
Passage of flood control legis-
lation now before Congress offers
a major solution to periodic
drouths in Texas, District Engi-
neer Colonel H. R. Hallock of
the Fort Worth Corps of Engi-
neers stated in Austin.
Legislation includes the pro-
posed Canyon Dam for the Gua-
dalupe River near New Braun-
fels and six major reservoirs to
be created in the Brazos River
Basin.
Hallock said that if the dams
are built, many millions of acre-
feet of water can be stored
against drouth periods.
