AUXILIARIES MEET
The Brotherhood end Church
Women of St. John’s Lutheran
congregation. Warrenton, met for
a regular meeting Oct. 8 at the
Chuch.
Opening devotions were brought.
The Bible Study, “Christ Em-
powers His Witnesses,’’ was con-
ducted with the Church Women
and Brotherhood participating in
group sessions, after which the
group combined for the discus-
sion summary.
The business meeting of the
Churchwomen was called to order
by Mrs. Weston Bauer, president.
Mrs. Vastine Treyblg, Secretary
of Education, asked for subscrip-
tions to the “Scope.” Mrs. Ed-
win Jaster, Secretary of Steward-
ship, announced that the Treasure
Chests were to be gathred next
month and distributed pamphlets on
“What You Should Know About
Wills.”
During the business meeting, the
Library committee was authorized
to get several new books. It was
also decided to provide extensions
to the guttrs so water can be
led over the walks with roll-away
hoses.
Preliminary plans for the Aux-
iliaries fall chicken stew supper
were made. The date was set
for Dec. 2 with serving to begin
at 6 p.m. A program of choir
anthems, with neighboring choirs
participating was planned.
The cause of the month, on
“Charities and Social Action” was
introduced by Mrs. Reinhard Bun-
jes using the symbol on a talk
board.
Mrs Ben F. McCormick brought
the meditation and prayer.
After the meeting adjourned with
all praying the Lord’s Prayer,
the Church Women joined the Bro-
therhood in the meeting room of the
church for a social hour.
Happy Birthday was dedicated
to Mrs. Henry Ahlhorn, Mrs. Win.
Bauer, Mrs. John Braun, Mrs.
Reinhard Bunjes, Mrs. Otto Kei-
lers, and Miss Delta Mischer,
birthday celebrants this month.
Refreshments were served by
Mr. and Mrs. Lloydell Kellers,
Mr. and Mrs. Ben F. McCormick,
Mr. and Mrs. Elo Marburger,
Mrs. Elenore Manske, and Wil-
bert Marburger.
BROTHERHOOD PLANS SERVICE
The Brotherhood of St. John’s
made plans for a special service
to be conducted by laymen on Oct.
21, in the regular worship ser-
vice.
BOOKMOBILE VISIT
The Texas State Library Book-
mobile will visit Warrenton for
its regular stop on Thursday from
11:15 to 11:45 a.m., Oct. 18. Re-
sidents are invited to borrow books
free for three weeks and renew
them if they are not finished with
them. Visits are made regular-
ly every three weeks, same day,
same, hour, same place.

Mrs. Robert Quade
IN HOSPITAL
Mrs. Lloyd Zwernemann was
taken to Milroy Hospital in Bren-
ham Wednesday. She returned
home on Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. Gus Kasparek of
Fayetteville visited with their dau-
ghter and son-in-law and family
in Carmine Saturday and Sunday,
Mrs. Lloyd Zwernemann was home
from the Milroy Hospital last week.
HOME FROM HOSPITAL
Mrs. Lee Wagner of Winedale
returned home from the Fayette
Memorial Hospital in La grange
last week where she had been a
patient. She is reported to be
doing nicely.
RT-C HALLOWEEN CARNIVAL
The Round Top-Carmine School
will hae their Halloween Carni-
val on Friday , Oct. 26, at the
Carmine High School.
The RT-C Mothers Club will
serve chicken stew, hot dogs, cake,
pie, and coffee. The serving will
begin at 6 p.m.
A program will be presented by
the Elementary and High School
students. The program will be-
gin at 8 p m.

mine spent last week in Pasadena
with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wei-
nert and Todd Richard.

Joe Tanecka and family of Pas-
adena visited in the home of his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. John A.
Tanecka Tuesday and Wednesday.
J. Cyrus Estill of ort Lavaca
and Houston spent Tuesday after-
noon with Mr and Mrs. William
Foss. They had been neighbors in
Kimble County. Mr. Estill raises
quail, and had been to Eagle Lake
to roder eggs for his next setting.
Having come that far, he decided
to continue somewhat farther and
make this visit. He sold his home
near Junction, recently.
Returning to his home in
Houston, Gene Kronenberg stopped
by for a visit with his uncle and
aunt, Mr. and Mrs. William Foss
Friday. He had just made a
business trip to Sanderson, Bak-
ersfield, and Sheffield inthe Upper
“Hill Country.”
Ger and Havemann of San Antonie
spent the weekend with his parents
Mr. and Mrs. Vastine Havemann.
Clinton Harbers of Columbus
visited with his mother, Mrs. Ri-
chard Harbers and the Ted W. Har-
bers’ Saturday. Mr. and Mrs.
George Vrazel and James of Aus-
tin also were visitors in Mrs.
Harbers’ home.
Mrs. J. A. Tanecka and Mar-
vin went to Temple Friday for a
visit in the home of Mr. and Mrs.
William Talasek. On Saturday
Mrs. Talasek motored to Austin.

Noting the change of the date for
the October meeting of Sons of
Hermann Lodge No. 238 in Prai-
rie Valley, this meeting will be
held Friday night, Oct. 19 at 7:30.
Plans for the sausage dinner for
members and their families on
Sunday, Oct. 21, will be com-
pleted at that time.
