lucky spot There havo been sev-
eral wrecks there and if an engine
dies anywhere on tho road it is sure
to bo at this spot Sunday night a
car on a southbound extra freight
train jumped tho track thero but
itayed on the ties dumaging tho
track for several hundred yards
Shiners baseball team arrived in
the city yestorday via the vehicle
route and at 4 oclock proceeded to
give tho boys a game of their life

A Serious Loss
Some bolt heads in tho boiler at
Aug Stephens gin burned out
Thursday causing the boiler to
leak The gin had to shut down
and a boiler maker from vCuero
sent for to repair the damage
Coming right in the midst of the

Tho gin resumed work Monday
morning but Tuesday tho pump
got out of fix and another shut-
down of several hours duration
