Let fje Show You
What We Can Do
to receive the most decisive
defeat of Ihe eason. The
Weimar team got off to a fly-
ing start in the first half and
almost burned the net from the
basket. The last halt was an
all together different , story
with the locals showing better
passing and a good defense to
outscore the same team which
outpointed them badly during
the first half. The final score
was 44 to 17.
Tuesday night of this week
the locals journeyed to Shiner
to return Shiners visit here
before the holidays. The locals
according to many, would lose
at Shiner, Tuesday night, but
that “old Bulldog Fight” was
plenty well demonstrated and
the first half ended Flatonia
14, Shiner 0.
During the second quarter
and the last half many sub-
stitutes had an opportunity to
show heir floor ability with
a basketball. The final score
Flatonia 19, Shiner 8.
Never have we gone any-
where, to play an atheletic con
test, and been treated more
loyal than the Shiner citizen-
ship and players. We sincerely
appreciate this, for players as
well as followers that are good
sports while being defeated,
stand the test of a true sport
and show that they are playing
for the sport of the game and
not to win at any cost.
The local Bulldogs will jor-
ney to Moulton Friday night
and Moulton will play here
Tuesday night, January 19th.
Moulton has a classy, well coa-
ched team and these two con-
tests will be hotly Contested
frbm whistle to whistle.
Each time we go away from
home to play we have trouble
finding ways for all the play-
ers. If you are going and have
room for |a player or two
please call some teacher and
let us know early as possible
for we cannot see and ask
every one if he or she is going
and would mind taking some
of the players. If you will give
us this assistance. We will ap-
perciate it ever so much. ,

ilication at the week end:
“One day last week there
was a GO'mile wind at the cav-
erns, which made the snow dis-
appear rapidly. The phenomen
on came in the fact that it was
moving in just the right direct-
ion to hit the mouth of the cav-
erns squarely and go down it
with great |foree. Finally it
reached the elevator shaft and
came up several windows in
the pent house at the top of
the 750 foot hole. The combin-
ation of circumstances may
never happen again, and will
never be fully possible again,
as the elevator shaft when
completed will shut out such
