TURKEYS TESTED - BY OFFICIAL STATE AGENCIES
TEXAS UNITED STATES
There were 62,593 heavy breed turkeys tested Testings of heavy breed turkeys during October
for pullorum-typhoid disease in October 1979, totaled 369,635, down 1 percent from 1978.
up 18 percent from a year ago. Light breeds tested totaled 8,467 compared
with 17,223 the same month last year.
For the 1978-79 season, 179,305 birds were
tested, compared with 133,384 a year ago. Thus far this season, 1,267,209 heavy breeds
and 60,920 light breeds have been tested.
