we did not want the business of any man w*nm it was necessa

Kverv business institution has its own way of doing business,
probably one as good as the other, and while the mortgage Uum

that our farmer* are just as good for their debts as anyone else.
We will not make a loan to anyone except our customers, or
those whom we think vyill make us accepliblc customers in the
future.

Ban Antonio, Tex., Apr., 26.—-
Many county aganta are sending
in reports of the work they are
doing for the Alamo Heroes'
Monument Association, and it ia
interesting to note bow some of
them are raising money for the
building fund. The monument
will cost $2,000,000.00 and it may
seem a difficult task to raise thia
sum, but to judge by some of the
report* received, the people of
Texan are giving loyal support
to the project and it abould not
be many months before the en-
tire amount is in hand.
One agent wrote that he had
appointed *ub-agcnta, many of
them women, who bad made
house to bouse calls with ticket*
which will entitle the holders to
admission to every part of the
monument when it it completed,
and these had had splerdid suc-
cess. Another had enlisted the
support of the school children
with, a* might be expected, ex-
cellent results. Another had
conducted short lecture tours in
the rural districts, explaining to
the people the purpose of the
monument, awaking their pat-
riotium, picturing the building
