is the coolest July weather I have observed all these years.”
The thermometer has been stamtmy at 00 and 08 each morn-
ing so tar in July. The electrical storm Sunday afternoon, ac-
companied by ram and high wind, did small damage to a few
buildings and trees, fruit was also blown from trees such as
apples, peaches, and pears, and bird cages were seen flying
around.

It was good to see Jane Cordon of Kort Worth in our church
Sunday morning. She accompanied Rev Mr; tlordon to tlrahsm
Mr Cordon filled the pulpit at the 11 o'clock services Sunday
morning Jane was looking as pretty as ever with her new hair
do and togged, out in a pretty blue .cotton with matching ac-
cessories.

Ann Allison, who is touring European countries with a
group of friends, was one of the lucky girls who didn't lose her
money while at a hotel in Tangier. Three girls lost all their
money when a man entered their hotel room one night and re-
moved their hand bags and contents.
--------------The tour director reported the incident to the manager of
the hotel first, he said they would pay the expense OTteleplione
calls home for the three girls so they might obtain more money,
hut after seeing it would cost the hotel ninety dollars to do so.

The girls finally worked out their problem and continued

Allison, she said the affair was much like those you see on tele-

HIDDEN TALENTS—Roland Abbott, congenial manager of
the local .Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, surprised his
friends Saturday afternoon at P-K Lake when he served as mas-
ter of ceremonies for the "Miss Possum Kingdom Lake" bathing
beauty contest.
' Roland did an excellent job announcing' the event, contest
ants, their sponsors, and had quick spontaneous comments for’
the audience of over 1,000 persons.
Pretty Helen Horn was crowned Miss Possum Kingdom"
with Kay Henning placing second, and Anne Felton, third
place, by out-of-city judges.

One purpose of the meeting was

It was voted on and passed by

Hal Lowe Rites
Held Sunday
Funeral services for Mr. Hal
Lowe, 83. of Olney were conduct-
ed 4 p.m. Sunday in the Lunn
Funeral Chapel. Burial was in
the True Cemetery north of New-
castle. r
Mr. Lowe was bom Dec. 3, 1887
in Tucker, Ga., and he and his
wife, the former Miss Delia Wild-
er, maried in 1904 in Corsicana.
Texas. They moved to the True
Community in 1906, and resided
in that area until his retirement
several years ago.
Survivors include his wife; 3
sons, Johnny of San Angelo. Gra-
dy of Long Beach, Calif., and
Charles of Wichita Falls; two
daughters. Miss DeAiva Lowe, of
Wichita Falls, and Mrs. Hall
Strmgfer of Olney; 9 grandchild-
ren, and 3 great grandchildren.

with Sizemore prior to his death.
Tests concluded this phase of
the investigation in the death of
Sizemore whose body was found
early July 5 on the Possum King-
dom Lake road, south of Gr*(
.bam a short distance over the
county line in Stephens county. I
Investigating officers first be-
lieved Sizemore had been the vic-
tim of a hit and run-driver, and
later, thought he had been beat-
en.

wanis club Thursday, July 13.
