Aid they moved out then, in a more or less diagonal
manner - as if I we . moving toward the corner of
this table -- they moved in this manner, and when they
reached a point about three feet from the front corner,
Leavelle said that he caught a flash of movement from
the lef4. We khow that was Ruby.
Ruby had the gun in his hand, when Leavelle
first saw him. He was moving -- Leavelle saw the gun,
saw the face, he rd the boom (snapping fingers)--
Leavelle put out his right hand to Riby's shoulder and
kept it on his shoulder until the other officers piled
on.
At the sa me time Lee Harvey Oswald got: shot --
and, dying if yoh please, while handcuffed in the custody
of officers, was slumping to the floor.
Leavelle had to go down with' him.
Leavelle lost contact at the time with Ruby,
but it was all right because the other officers had
Ruby.
Leavelle told you how that he got a hand under
neath Oswald and with the assistance of other officers
took him into the jail office."4' 4 ',,
